ND v Duke

Ok, so no more minutes for Ryan I guess since you say he can't guard anybody. Not every college player is a lockdown defender. He's a shooter, he needs some minutes to get into a groove. He may not be the best defender but I think he can do a serviceable job. If he's hitting his threes, I'll take his lack of "lockdown"ness.

Didn't imply to give him no minutes...maybe hide him in a zone. I just offered an opinion...you probably have seen ND more than me...I agree ND needs his shot. And it would be greatly appreciated....people are going a bit overboard about this game...Duke is really good. They were pre-season top 5 were they not? ND somehow managed to "eke" out over 70 points with arguably their best shooter stinking the joint out and missing a ton of ft's...all teams go thru funks, they will be better but this is not an elite 8 team from what I have seen...

So why don't you explain to all us blind, dumb, and clueless people what this offense would look like??? It couldn't possibly be that Duke did a better job defensively could it....it always has to be what Brey did or didn't do.....if ND did have a different offense you would say the assistants put the offense in.....So Brey is f...ed no matter what. Why don't you tell all of the people on the dumbest board in all of sports how much ND would have won by had you coached the game last nite....but you won't you'll just backpedal....btw...i did just watch the game and I don't ever recall Farrell taking a shot from 40 ft...you are an ass

Your statement suggests Brey does something to begin with as far as coaching is concerned .... he never does anything .... the assistants at last call dial the x's and o's ... unless Brey learned offense in the last 3-5 years ... but any half brain can see that is not the case.... Farrell never shot from 40? ... you were probably too busy looking for a high pick and roll .... LOL! .... and yes until Brey starts coaching he is dragging down the team .... you can run any offense and screw it up if you have no acountability for working for good shots

We run a version of Carolinas motion offense ... lots of movement .... dependent of strong screen fundamentals ... attacking the paint ... working the ball inside out .... and reversing .... for your simplistic overview .... we don't hang on the perimeter all day waiting to force a bomb and/or drive the lane if it isn't there .... work for quality shots and make them play D .... what a concept eh? .....

I'm a what? .... GRRRRR ... so angry ... LOL!

ND needs Ryan's shot...but imo, from what I have seen of him I was not overly impressed with his defense. I wouldn't be really confident in him being able to lock anybody down...at least not with Duke's talent...who does he guard?

ND's shooters are often rendered useless when they are left to create their own shots .... Ryan isn't that type of player ... so in this freelance offense he looks useless ... to anyone who doesn't know more than what a high pick and roll is ... LOL!

Guys...you do know that Duke gives scholarships to basketball players...some of them are really good basketball players. I didn't see the game...but maybe Duke is just better than ND is....I staed before...for ND to win they have to have at least 3 guys making shots...from reading this thread it sounds like there were only 2....seems like Vasturia is struggling....how many of the shots he missed were considered "good looks." It seems when he is on ND plays alot better....

Many of the shots they make aren't good looks .... this is standard .... forced low % shots are a Brey calling card .... unless your considering games against teams like IPFW .... duh o_O

So when Vasturia is on ND is better .... wow! ... this guy knows his hoops ... tell us more about running a high pick and roll ... LOL!

So would Duke and the rest of the ACC. LOL.

"WE"....who the hell are we? Your U12 girls team? Or the fat asses from Chico's Bar and Grill who play in that intramural beer league....lmao...Carolina's Motion....hilarious! Carolina's motion looks pretty good when you have Jordan and Perkins running it....or the 5 AA's they get every year. Go ahead ND run douchebug's motion...I have Duke's players.....Play behind the post and dare ND to throw it inside, big deal. As far as screen action away...I will just have my Duke players switch every screen. Grayson Allen, Matt Jones and that other kid...Jefferson? can gd. every single player on ND's team. So i just switch constantly and push the offense further away from the rim. Carolina's motion is predicated on guys being able to take people to the hole off the bounce....ND has 4 guys on the floor(maybe Farrell is the exception) that can, at best, beat one guy off the dribble. And by dribble I mean 2 bounces at most.....Dude...we get it....you caught Brey with the old lady 17 years ago...so you hate his guts....no matter what ND does you are gonna blame him for something....you are the same asshole that said that the players coached ND to the Elite 8 2 yrs in a row and won an ACC title. Maybe to some of these posters will buy into your horsecrap...but I know you are nothing but a barstool ballbuster..."WE"...yea right....lmfao!

I'll just say this ... with the shooters ND has and has always had under Brey .... this team could be scary if they ever became disciplined enough to work for good shots .... attack the paint ... be comitted to playing D and rebounding ..... no joke

Your attempts to try and paint me as something else are hilarious .... you are obviously the fraud .... you don't have to have superstars to run an efficient offense ... the goal is to get the most out of what you have ..... Brey hasn't done that yet .... but the guy who brags about knowing what a high pick and roll does? .... LOL!

And sometimes the team with the better players win...no matter what kind of offense you are running. As far as Vasturia...I have said repeatedly...ND needs THREE guys to shoot the ball well to compete against the top tier teams in the league...check out Vasturia and Farrell the other nite vs Duke....4-18...if one of them was on ND could have ONE! And they still put up 74 pts... And no matter what ND does, good or bad, Brey will be hammered by you. When they shoot the ball well it's because of the assistants or the players coaching the team....when they lose it's Brey's fault. You have no credibility at all. Your 17 year hard-on for the guy has become boorish and pathetic which is why you are the most hated poster on this website...why in the world would anyone listen to anything you have to say, you are a loon who should be getting mental help....everything you post is created to carry on your narrative....I just enjoy the hell out of laughing at you...you really should consider putting me on ignore cuz the only reason i come on this site is to bust your balls. I could care less what you think...I would never, ever listen to coaching advice from a lunatic like you....

Earth to idiot ... that is what a disciplined offense that cares about high % shots helps avoid .... 4-17 ..... 4-17 is what becomes more likely when you send the team out like an NBA squad and let everyone do whatever they want

From Brey's own mouth he doesn't know how to draw up an offensive play let alone an offense.

"I'm not much of an x's and o's guy." - M Brey

And the players themselves telling you they call the plays .... LOL!

Watching how you can't deal with it is hilarious ..... sad for the team .... but the upside is watching you embarass yourself ... what do I have to do to get you to print off more of my posts for your imaginary friends .... which proves that even more hilarious (and pathetic) is that you whining about me on this board every day isn't enough .... you have to print off my posts to go whine about me everywhere else ..... LOLOLOLOL! :D

Hey numbnuts...this isn't jr hi girls basketball we are talking about here....there is this thing called a 30 second shot clock that college men and women have to deal with. I don't care what offense ND runs...flex, swing, passing game, dribble drive, motion the bottom line is they will end up running 4 around 1 when all is said and done. And Duke, Carolina, Kansas, Nova and a bunch of other elite teams have no problem switching every screen and getting the shot clock down under 10 seconds. And if Geben or Torres are on the floor when the clock runs down the opponent should be screaming, "Go ahead, throw it inside." Those 2 guys sure would put the fear of God into me over a 40 minute game. So ND always will end up with 4 on the perimeter and one in the post...these teams tell the post guy to play behind Colson, who is barely 6-5 or Geben or Torres who couldn't score in a whorehouse with $100. There will be no weak side or strong side double down. Dare Bonzie and the other 2 to beat them with post moves. The perimeter defenders can lock up on ND's shooters and invite Colson to throw the ball outside. ND has no perimeter guys who I have seen who can beat people off the dribble consistently over a 40 minute period. College hoops is about what your offense does when the clock goes under 10 seconds....so go ahead a run you "Carolina Motion"(lmao). What are you gonna do when I get you under 8 seconds....why don't you tell all us blind, stupid, clueless people on the dumbest board in all of sports your super play is when the clock is running out. I for WON would love to hear it! And keep calling plays when the clock starts dwindling down...talk about f...ing up a team's rhythm.

Someone apparently has a lot of time on their hands to go and write that much jibberish ... ND will always be 4 around one? .... you don't see a problem with that? .... and they don't work the ball into the paint regularly ... with a clock running out ... that usually ends up in a forced poor shot .... 9 times out of ten .... you spend too much time dissecting high pick and rolls to know anything beyond that

If ND doesn't have anyone who can effectively dribble penetrate they shouldn't be doing it ... and for 17 years anyone that wants to can .... whenever they want .... my favorite was watching Torrian Jones drive the hoop and turning it over in a tied last possession game ..... You probably don't even KNOW who that is .... stupid

Like talking Calculus to a 1st grader .... check that .... It's like talking Calculus to a whiny 1st grader that persists in throwing hissy fits because they are so dumb nobody will ever convince them they actually have no clue what they are talking about ..... duh!

Team: "Four" Coach Bug: "How many?" Team: "Four."

Coach Bug during Time-Out: "Let's work for the good shot!"

Coach Bug: OK..".Were gonna run the Picket-Fence at 'em. " Beachem, you're solo right, Matty, you and Bonzie are the fence, now Stevie don't get caught watching the paint dry!"

Coach Bug: "VJ....were gonna use you as a decoy. Stevie is gonna take the last shot." "What's wrong with you guys?" VJ: "I'll make it." Coach Bug: Ok, f..k it...Matty, get VJ the ball at the top of the key!"

Coach Bug: "I love you guys."
