Navy, Miami unbeaten, NC State, USC 1 loss, Stanford, Wake 2 losses.

This buy week needs to be about getting the ND receivers and BW productive. You cannot bulldoze your way through that gauntlet.

ND is going to have to pick up 3rd and Mediums to stay on the field and cannot rely on BW legs to save them. ND is also going to have to complete passes on 1st down. There are no more Temples, Miami of OHIO, UNC and BC,s left on the schedule.

The opponents are going to break 20 and some may break 30 on a good but not great defense. ND is not going to keep up being a one dimensional offensive football team.

If the passing game stays as is...3-3 in the 2nd half of the season is the best you can hope for IMO. Still a really good year and a building block for 2018. If ND can get some productivity out of the pass 4-2 maybe 5-1? Who knows?

There is nobody left on our schedule that we cannot play with and win..... not saying we will..... just need BW to get into the 60's with comp rate and stay healthy .... could be a hell of a year if our receivers progress...... to many drops and too few amazing's.....

All fair points, IMO. 3-3 or 4-2 would not surprise me at all down the stretch. 5-1 would leave me pleasantly surprised. USC, Navy, NC State, Miami and Stanford could all be ranked when ND plays them. That's a gauntlet for a young quarterback and a thin defense.

Navy and Wake have little chance to beat this ND team. BW is going to get more comfortable as a passer. I have more concern with the receiver position than I do the QB. E Q needs to get his head out of his backside and decide if he wants to he great. Claypool is an all effort guy who is going to continue to progress. I would like to see more of Finke at WR.

Alize and EQ haven't dominated as I thought they might this year. Of course I also thought they both might have gone pro this year after great years.

The defense is fine. I'm not being critical of them at all, they're thin at some key positions and an injury or two would really hurt their productivity.

In particular, Asmar Bilal is not an effective Rover and needs to be moved to Buck next year with Owusu-Koramoah and Simon taking over behind Tranquill. If Drue were to be injured this year, the drop off between him and Bilal is enormous. The same is true of Jerry Tillery. ND does not have another NG in even the same world as him right now. If he were to get hurt, the interior li e would take a huge hit. Nick Coleman is another. Studstill and Elliot have taken turns playing poorly. If both had to play at the same time because of a Coleman injury, yikes. Elko can hide one guy, but you can't protect both... Then there is Shaun Crawford. ND would be crippled in their Nickel package if he were to go down.

I like the defense, a lot. I predicted they'd be a top 30 scoring defense this year and I'm staying steadfast in that prediction. That said, they've faced almost not adversity when it comes to significant injuries and in almost any season It's bound to happen at some point. They simply have a couple positions they cannot afford an injury or it would be catastrophic to their overall package.

when is elijah taylor expected back?

This D has done more than most expected at the beginning of the year and while we continue to give up some yardage, they remain fairly opportunistic capitalizing on turnovers. While BC, Temple, UNC and, for the most part, MSU won't scare too many defenses this year, we can't discredit what they have done. That being said, we definitely have some intriguing matchups coming up for that group over the next few games. I'm always nervous about SC (athletes/speed at the skill) and Navy (scheme) so I think we will be leaning on the offense for those games.

Our defense is very deep and all college QB's are young.
I would take Wimbush over Sam Darnold in college football anyday. Wimbush is Dangerous. IMO.

I hope they don't go into the Navy game taking him lightly.

ND's defense is not "very deep". They have above average talent at most positions, but outside of corner, defensive end and ILB, they are not deep.

And Zorich88 said ND doesn't have enough top teams to beat on the schedule to move up the polls, haha.

ND might have the toughest remaining schedule in the nation now. It was no. 8 SOS a week ago. Kelly and co. can shut a$$holes like me up if ND runs the table.

Go Irish!

Really good year. According to who?

Two things.....

The same page is not the problem...its the ****ing accuracy. So if somehow a rabbit gets pulled from a hat (won't) and BW suddenly stops short hopping balls, throwing them behind and shoe lace level on simple flare passes, then perhaps the offense can get another dimsenion.

The reality is this...

You can't make someone in two weeks an accurate passer. Quite honestly his accuracy is so piss poor I don't think it will ever get good.

Satisfactory accuracy? Tony Rice accuracy? Possibly.

But I refuse to compare BW to the great Rice who played his best games in the biggest games.

So this is not going to happen in two weeks.

Part 2

Can't beat those teams being one dimensional. Bullshit.

You very well can beat those teams being one dimensional provided you do your one dimension so well!!!

Holtz great teams, Meyer, Saban, have won being heavily one dimensional.

Tom Osborne.

The difference is when your one dimension is the best around, good luck stopping it.

The best ND can hope for is this...get the recievers heads out of their ass and quit ****ing pouting that the pass was at your shoes and you aren't putting up electric numbers.

Is this team about we, us, our or are you Daisy recievers here for me, myself, mine,??
The decision is yours.

Something like that.

That is your opinion. The Irish opponents like Georgia would beg to differ I bet, The Irish were rotating D players the whole game and held them to 20. The offense blew that game.
