What I don't understand is why Duke is rated higher than ND.

We're 2-0 against them this year ... beat them at Cameron and again in the ACC tournament.

How does the committee decide they're better?

Fair or unfair, Duke has history of performing well in March madness and will thus get the nod on seeding to always help their case

Duke had a better overall record and fewer bad losses. If head to head is going to be a major seeding criteria there will be some slippery slopes. Iowa beat MSU twice

Both Duke and Notre Dame had 11 losses. That argument is out the window. Duke had some "bad" losses also.
Duke commands some crazy amount of respect even when its not warranted.
This "bracket" could have been drawn by a bunch of fourth graders.

I will give you Duke's seed even though I don't agree with it. But they must have been passing around the crack pipes when they didn't give MSU a #1 seed...what did UVA do to warrant a 1? They did not win their league or conference tournament...Izzo musta pissed someone off...

Just happy to be in. Team is really inconsistent, with some really good wins, and more than a few terrible blow out loses. I'm fine with our seeding.

Absolutely! They must have had a new "buzz phrase" this year!
No way that UVA deserved a #1 seed and Oregon didn't either. Michigan State should have sewed up a #1 with their Big 14 tourney championship.
Duke's #4 seed is all about the benjamins!

But the seeding should be based only on THIS season! Past success should have no bearing on the committee's decisions.
