Not much of a lineup for the first set of games today, so I'm checking in on Navy vs Colgate. Now Colgate will probably get killed but they are playing a defense that is a personal favorite of mine when defending the option. They are in a balanced front with 8 in the box and playing cover 0. The free safety is considered the hit man. He flows with the motion and cleans up on the pitch. It is a very simple defense that should excel at stuffing the inside run while also stringing out the run to the sidelines.
Sometimes the most effective defense is the simplest one.
