I want to bring a school up that nobody is discussing.
No don't be a smart ass and say there is a reason.
They lost by 4 points to South Carolina on opening weekend.

Since then they have been undefeated. They have beat some good tough teams.

That QB and offense gave us fits last year and it continues. There is running up tempo and there is North Carolina. They just hurry up while hurrying. Good God.

So if they win out....that is going to be a tough matchup for Clemson in the Acc tithe game.

So would a 1 loss UNC team that just beat the all world #1 team in the Acc title game get in?
It certainly worked for Ohio State last year...who let me remind you had an atrocious schedule last year, lost way early.....then pummled a team in the title game. Not even a top 5 team was Winsconsin yet that was we enough to get them in.

I see nobody whatsoever making any case for the poor tar heels.

That is wrong IMO.
Let's say this....if every power team winds up losing before year is over I think UNC has to be considered.

Another what if.

Florida with one loss getting in if they some how in a miracle win the sec.....is wrong.
It would be amazing if they beat Bama but Florida's offense might the worst in the country. I think they would rather skip playing offense and just hope for safties or a pick 6.

This time of year is just crazy and fun.

Oklahoma state or Baylor wins out they are in. A one loss Sooner team is the only one with a loss that couid get in. They will have beaten ok. state, Baylor, tcu.

But again how ignorant. Oklahoma's loss was worse than UNC's and if UNC wins out that means they defeated everyone's #1 Clemson.

Lastly.....if an American Conference team goes undefeated would they get put in?
Houston as example. I would think if everyone loses at the top and they remain undefeated they have to get consideration.

Another week of fun college football.

Being 12-1 with a victory over a #1 Clemson and a conf champ with one loss to an SEC team is hard to ignore. But the loss to a SCar team that most likely is not going to a bowl would be hard to overcome.

Iowa finishing undefeated, Oklahoma with one loss, North Carolina with one loss. Those would really complicate things. I think all these what if conversations show the need for an 8 team playoff.

If there were 8 teams...would all this talk and speculation be as intense and fun? The drama and pressure of one loss wouldn't be as crazy. I kinda like the all or nothing pressure of the 4 team format.

Ur right that that 4 team playoffs create intensity and fun. That's what the BCS did too. I just meant that despite expanding to 4 teams, I still think there are teams deserving a shot at the title being left out.

An 8 team playoff would give a shot to a non power5 team like an undefeated Houston that has no shot now.

The QBN has been hot lately. I would not be surprised if he gets Heisman attention if he continues streak of play.

4 teams is more fun to discuss right now, but if the Irish get left out at 11-1, an 8 team playoff would sound pretty good.
