Mel Tucker

You are too much. Quit with the straw man arguments. No, I don't know anything about Tucker's marital situation. Nor do I care. Nor is it any of my business. Nor am I "passing judgement (sic)" on the man. Nor did I condemn him. I merely commented on what I thought MSU would do in the situation. And guess what: my prediction was correct!

What consenting adults do in private is their own business in most circumstances, but I do not agree with that as an absolute statement. For example, were you ok with Bill Clinton getting a BJ in the oval office by a star-struck intern that was half his age? I didn't think it was an impeachable offense, but I certainly thought it was beneath the dignity of the Office of the President of the United States. But I guess you were OK with that?
Let’s take a closer look at the Clinton incident.

I have no issue with the age disparity.

You may recall that an Air Force officer was demoted for having sex with a subordinate when Hillary was shouting from the rooftops that that constituted inappropriate conduct and an abuse of power. I’m ambivalent on that issue because it seems to preclude a man and woman from flirting and engaging if one of the parties holds a higher rank

Tarnishing the dignity of the office, yeah, I agree with that, but then I thought about JFK who I admired, sneaking women into the White House for sex. LBJ did the same.

I think that the age disparity, the fact that she was an intern and that it took place in the Oral Office combined to make it offensive.

Had his choice been Victoria Secret models or Hollywood stars at another location it wouldn’t have drawn the same attention.

Did MSU get it right ?
Or is this Duke all over again ?
I don’t know !

I just know that one should be presumed innocent until proven guilty and that they’re entitled to Due Process

They don't have to be the same...they both put a major dent in MSU's public status. Including the $$ which is maybe the most important component.....with reputation coming in second.

The 2 aren't even close to being the same

I would think that they have moral turpitude clauses in their contracts which would limit the financial hit

What I stated is 100 % accurate, you’re just too dumb to understand that one shouldn’t make a judgement without the facts at their disposal.

Perhaps your memory is so limited that you forgot about the Duke lacrosse team rap case
So you think it’s okay what Mel was doing. Okay got it jackass!

You’re a disgrace like your buddy Pat. I never said they were the same. I said what a mess they are. Learn to read.
The mess is people automatically believing someone when they dont have any facts and tarnishing a pe4son without any facts

What was he doing and what are ALL of the facts and circumstances related to his conduct ?

Don‘t you think that you should have all of the facts before you render judgement ?

Hey Golson, did you ever think that we’d ever be called “buddies” ? 😜

We’ve come a long way ! 👍

Anyone who continually posts with dark crayons can't ever be considered serious. 🙄
It’s unfortunate that you don’t have the brains to be able to discern the difference between form and substance !

I knew the other idiot wasn’t far behind. Let’s see what dumbass (Golson5, Fat Pat or the Dumbass from NJ) will stoop to new depths of stupidity.

Jason Whitlock wrote an interesting take on the Mel Tucker fiasco:

A pox on all
Whitlock doesn't have a lot of nice things to say about any of the people involved.
This sums it up very well!!!

A lot of stupid people out there
Thats is true. And Mel Tucker is one of them. He walked right into that scenario with his eyes wide open. Feel sorry for him if you want to. I would rather feel sorry for his family. Had he been vetted properly he would never have been hired for that job. Thats on MSU. We don't know the details...But thanks to Tucker...we know more than we want to. He did not live up to the terms of the contract i.e. where moral turpitude and the reputation of the university is concerned. So he's gotta go. I'll save you a response:

"Yawn".

He doesnt have to go. He only has to go in this new ridiculous culture where the woke can cancel you and you are guilty based on accusations. If he was doing well as a football coach, the university would have his back. They are using this scenario to get out of their ridiculous contract they gave him. It's all about the $ and trying to satisy the woke mob and fake outrage

It's a sad world we live in

He is the leader of the program and he is rubbing one out on the phone with a lady who goes around to schools talking about sexual harassment. He is a dope and needs to go.

The next thing we are going to hear is that the head coach isn't a role model and shouldn't be expected to be one...you know..."just the x's and o's and W's....that's what they pay him for, so leave him alone".

Who cares. 2 consenting adults. I could care less what he does in his personal time. Why do you?

Coach or player gets a DUI that could kill someone, all good here, 1 game suspension or a half

Coach cheats on his wife, gets fired and loses all his money

Makes perfect sense !

Tucker generated a lawsuit against the U. If a coach got a DUI that did in fact kill someone, the lawsuit that followed would also result in his termination. Exposing the U to litigation due to personal carelessness and unwise choices will do that, regardless of the scenario.

I can file a lawsuit right now. That means sh*t

Is that all you got?

If Mel Tucker had been smart enough to engage in his "personal carelessness and unwise choices" outside the realm of the workplace; he might have had a chance. You can argue that it wasn't workplace related...its a losing argument. Mel can't be a victim of the circumstances that he himself created. Stupid is usually not free.

It all comes down to that 79 million. Not facts and not what's right or wrong.

$$

It's fine they will fire him for cause to try and save that money. He is going to sue them. They will settle and he's going to get a lot of money for doing nothing

New America

IrishJohn, lay off the booze !
It's not booze, it's his LOW IQ. He didn't even get your comment about the Colorado sideline looking like USC's back in the hey day . He's either too young or too dumb, and I'll go with the latter.

The goal of a "settlement" is that both sides are satisfied with the outcome. Its true...Mel will get a boatload of cash...but a fraction of the 79 mil. And yes, he won't have to do anything but spend his money and "make his phone calls." MSU will move on to another coach. I confess that I think the stupidity falls on both sides to an extent...as MSU brought Dantonio back in an interim capacity to help the acting HC. That too is stupid.

I don't care but he has been exposed ( no pun intended). He is a low life. See ya ...
Can't be leading a football program. Besides he stinks as a coach.

What’s wrong with that ?

I need to make an edit or correction to your statement.

We don’t know if he cheated on his wife.
They may have an open relationship.

His wife may have cheated on him previously.

The fact is that those being highly critical and condemning Mel don’t have all of the facts at their disposal, ergo they’re rushing to judgement.

I'm a Christian so regardless it's cheating or morally wrong to me.

Regardless what you consider it, the fact is it shouldn't be anyone's business and the University shouldnt be involved

Mel losing his job for two reasons: University doesn't want more sex related bad pub. And they have buyer's remorse on Mel and want to save as much money as possible while they get rid of him.
