Rightfully so. I would imagine ND will slowly lose fans, the more they put the games on a streaming service, and it's not about money. This thread was inevitable. Every year the Peacock complaints come in.
Much ado about nothing in my opinion. The cost is minimal. In the future I'm pretty sure all sports will only be available on some sort of NFL ticket type format. I know plenty of ND fans who would happily pay extra to ensure they could see every game.Rightfully so. I would imagine ND will slowly lose fans, the more they put the games on a streaming service, and it's not about money.
Rightfully so how ? The fans aren't " entitled" to have every game telecast provided to them in a way that is most convenient. It's available if you choose to watch it. It's not like it's not available at all.Rightfully so. I would imagine ND will slowly lose fans, the more they put the games on a streaming service, and it's not about money.
You have a choice, you don't want to pay $6 then don't watch it. Some of you act like it costs $100. Yet they will go to a bar and drink a few at $5-6 a beer. Tightasses, and don't give me its the principle of the thing.NBC is a clown show.
True enough...small price to pay...UNLESS you live in Canada where Peacock is a birdCmon people its $6. Peacock had a special a couple months ago for $20 a year. Knowing ND/Louisville game only on peacock along with a few NFL games, numerous Big 10 BB games and full coverage of the olympics I decided to splurge, LOL
ND fans have literally been entitled to this exact thing for what, 30 years?Rightfully so how ? The fans aren't " entitled" to have every game telecast provided to them in a way that is most convenient. It's available if you choose to watch it. It's not like it's not available at all.
They won’t. The younger fans are indoctrinated with streaming services and social media, so they don’t fret this. Some older ones are might leave, but my I know my circle won’t.Rightfully so. I would imagine ND will slowly lose fans, the more they put the games on a streaming service, and it's not about money.
I have peacock . You totally missed the point. This thread was inevitable. Every year the Peacock complaints come in.
Lol! You’re driving g the clown car. I have peacock. It’s the point that two ranked teams are on streaming only. You have a choice, you don't want to pay $6 then don't watch it. Some of you act like it costs $100. Yet they will go to a bar and drink a few at $5-6 a beer. Tightasses, and don't give me its the principle of the thing.
The decision to air the game on Peacock was made long before the season started.Lol! You’re driving g the clown car. I have peacock. It’s the point that two ranked teams are on streaming only.
What does that have to do with it ? Sounds spoiled.ND fans have literally been entitled to this exact thing for what, 30 years?
The only clown is your dumbass. It has been scheduled on Peacock before the season even started. Try and keep up, I know its hardLol! You’re driving g the clown car. I have peacock. It’s the point that two ranked teams are on streaming only.
Right. And NBC should have known it was going to be a good matchup. Maybe last weeks dumpster fire could have been on there instead. The only clown is your dumbass. It has been scheduled on Peacock before the season even started. Try and keep up, I know its hard
One game a year against a MAC team was one thing, but putting an actual good matchup exclusively on Peacock I'm not a fan of. And I have Peacock. If you don’t understand why they’re putting games on Peacock exclusively, I don’t really know what to say to you. NBC is doing exactly what they should do.
But it'll hurt viewership numbers for this game.
But I don't like it as an ND fan. If I was the AD, I'd complain to NBC about this. It reduces viewership of one of our better home games this year.Which is a sacrifice that they will happily make to get more eyes on/potential subscriptions to Peacock.
ND plays 4 competitive teams this year (Louisville is 1 of them) the fact that you can only watch this on a niche subscription product is something fans should be justifiably disappointed in.But I don't like it as an ND fan. If I was the AD, I'd complain to NBC about this. It reduces viewership of one of our better home games this year.

Exactly. ND fans are accustomed to this for 30 years, like going from getting laid weekly to nada. Change is inevitable but hard. Now if this was Northwestern, they’d be ecstatic they could go stream their game somewhere but it’s a change for ND fans, especially when two MAC teams were nationally televised. But if NBC wants to successfully promote Peacock, they wouldn’t put those clunkers on there. What does that have to do with it ? Sounds spoiled.
There's always been one game a year on Peacock, since 2021 when it started. But it was always a game with a MAC team until this year. Perhaps that changed when they signed the new contract that bumped up the money to $50 million/year. If that's the case, then you're right - it's a tradeoff ND's making for the bigger contract. That would explain it.You'd complain to the network that's paying you ~50 million dollars a year that 1 of your home games is being broadcast on a streaming service. Do I have that right?
A contract by the way that I have zero doubts has Peacock exclusivity for some games written into it. This is not something Notre Dame is surprised at, they signed the deal. And they signed it happily.
According to you 4ND plays 4 competitive teams this year (Louisville is 1 of them) the fact that you can only watch this on a niche subscription product is something fans should be justifiably disappointed in.
Presidents Cup commitment.7:30 PM Illinois at P-State. NBC. 3:30 there is no game on NBC at all.
Exactly. Navy suddenly looks pretty good. As does UVA. And this Jeckyll and Hyde football team can stink vs anyone.According to you 4
Stanford and GT look much improved from last yearExactly. Navy suddenly looks pretty good. As does UVA. And this Jeckyll and Hyde football team can stink vs anyone.
Its actually more like 3.5 competitive games now that Florida State has tumbled all the way down to #40According to you 4

I'm just thinking in terms of maximizing TV exposure for the program. Being on national TV's better than not. For example, for recruiting - you want potential recruits around the country seeing your team on TV.It's just the cost of doing business in this landscape, and I'd hardly call that a "cost" when we're talking about this kind of money to air your football games. This is not something that's bothering ND in any way whatsoever; it's bothering the fans. And in the big scheme of things it's likely not even that huge a # of people considering how many of them will understand why NBC would make a game exclusive on Peacock.
Last year an NFL PLAYOFF GAME was exclusive on Peacock. If they can do it with that, I think it's pretty safe to say they can do the same with Notre Dame vs Louisville.
The funny thing about it is that the people who complain about it the loudest, those are the people that will inevitably subscribe to Peacock to watch the games because they just can't live without it. So I don't even know why they complain to begin with.

But I'd forgotten they had an NFL playoff game exclusively on Peacock last year. I guess they're doing that with bigger games now in both college and pro.
Navy and Army are both 3-0 and tied atop the AAC standings currently.Exactly. Navy suddenly looks pretty good. As does UVA. And this Jeckyll and Hyde football team can stink vs anyone.
Like I've said about 5x now. I have Peacock. Been subscribing to it for over a year. Never complained until I saw one of the only ranked vs ranked games on streaming only. It's just the cost of doing business in this landscape, and I'd hardly call that a "cost" when we're talking about this kind of money to air your football games. I mean…it’s Notre Dame man. In this era of exposure, they’re not losing much, if anything having 1 game a year on Peacock.
You want to talk about exposure and its impact on your program? Don’t freaking lose to Northern Illinois then.
According to what I'm seeing, MSU-OSU (7:30) and Nebraska-Purdue (12 PM) are exclusively Peacock this week (along with ND-Louisville at 3:30), but Michigan-Washington isn't the following week. The 3 games this week are likely due to NBC televising the Presidents Cup all day Saturday. So they chose this week as their big Peacock-only week because of that.If I'm not mistaken Michigan St v. Ohio St. is exclusively on Peacock and so is Michigan vs. Washington the following week.
Cool bud. Apparently they mean something to you. Since you keep replying. So if Louisville had 1 loss right now you'd think nothing of it?
And I know it kills people here to see this, but you’re 1 person on a message board. Your complaints don’t mean much of anything.
