Kelly Will Be Fired Sunday

Java, we agree on most of Kelly's faults. That said, I simply disagree with your view that a good DC won't make a difference. We could waste time and energy debating BVG's impact on ND's performance and records over each of his two plus seasons, but my view is we would have won enough to be a top ten team. I hate Kelly's offense and our inability to run on critical short yardage situations, and our red zone efficiency has been embarrassing, but our offense put up big numbers the past two years in spite of all this. I hope Kelly is let go Sunday and that Jack has a good process underway to name a strong successor shortly thereafter; but absent this, I do believe the addition of good D C and S T coaches can and will make a positive impact next season.
I don't know, IMO the only year we had a good offense was last year. This year we are currently 55th is scoring offense. Not to mention turnovers have been a huge problem from day 1, 7 years ago.

When you have a inexperienced defense the worst thing you can do it turn the ball over and we have been doing that for 7 years.

IMO, the offense has been poor for 6 out of the 7 years and every single QB has regressed dramatically under Kelly and I see no evidence any of that will improve.

im calling it. Makes sense with the season and all the other things that have happened. After the slaughter Saturday, ND will come to it's senses.
And Hillary will be the next President elect. Coach Kelly is going to be on the sidelines next year for ND.

The biggest problem Kelly has had, and will have, in his search for a DC is Brian Kelly. His offenses lack the ball control that a top flight DC can rely upon to keep his players fresh and focused. Who wants to coach the defense with one hand tied behind his back?

thinking P44 might be a K-shill using the old P. ID.
would not be the first time the used an alias (ND35 spin offs).

hard to believe an objective rational person could be so biased unless they either had agenda or serious lack of 'grey matter',

What brand tin foil do you use for a hat?

My only point is that the offense has been good enough to win under Kelly, but not so when BVG was DC. Agree that the offense has been mediocre in terms of national scoring average, etc... but defense has been pathetic. Just looking at defense over the past three seasons (13-14-15) to take Manti out of the equation, our points per game allowed were 27-29-24 respectively. During the same three seasons Stanford allowed 19-16-22 and Mich St allowed 13-21-21. My gut tells me none of this really matters, as I believe Kelly and the Administration will figure out a graceful exit in the coming days. At least, that is my hope!

if nothing happens by Tues. and Kelly returns to and leaves S.B. then it is official:
ND has thrown in the towel, raised the white flag and the hope train has left the station!
