I watched the press conference and what jumped out at me were his comments about the OL .

Physical - talented - strong and experienced . He was clear that he thought at the point of attack they could play against any team in the country . We all know we have talent all over the field but can we run the football when it matters most ? It appears that is what we will see this season . if in fact we can run the ball vs USC - Ga Tech - Texas - Clemson I think we can win every game on the schedule assuming of course we stay healthy on defense .

Stay reasonably healthy - cut down on turnovers and run the football . Lastly Kelly said if teams load the box than that team can expect a healthy distribution of the football to our receivers . The program is in very good hands and the Texas game can't come soon enough.

Our success this year hinges on 2 main things: 1. the productivity of Zaire; and 2. the health of the defense. Of course a little luck also goes a long way.

Continually, thanks for the post. Anxious to see the transcript, but you and I and several others have been talking about the OL for sometime now, and totally agree that we need to be able to get the tough yards when needed. So many variables at play here, but we have every reason to expect a dominant OL and dominant run game.

Who would watch or listen to that dbag head coach? I haven't listened to him once since he embarrassed the ND program in the second week of 2011. He's a crap 8-4 coach. He's perfect for the mindless masses I guess.

Didn't you have an appt. with OZ to get a brain? Apparently it was cancelled.

Tex - as an example last yr Nick Martin played hurt all year @ 286 lbs and really wasnt able to even squat comfortably . This yr he has increased strength is over 300 lbs and according to Kelly is a completely different player . I expect between Bars and Nelson for there to be production out of the left guard spot .

It just seemed watching Kelly he was borderline emphatic that the OL was the real deal .

Also the secondary play will be a real strength as well . He gushed about Max Redfield .

It was a really great press conference and some great points were made .

If Max Redfield has finally turned the corner, as the LSU game hinted at, then our backfield defense will be greatly improved, and we should begin seeing the aggressive play Van Gorder is noted for. The Texas game can't come soon enough.

you're not a notre dame fan. why would you listen to him ? Bozo more your speed.

Incredible that the Kelly apologists who come up with every excuse in the book for this guy gets on me because I make it clear there are no excuses this year. In fact, I am agreeing with you that he has a loaded team. You all have repeatedly said this. So...what are you going to say if Kelly does not deliver? You have no more excuses this year. Man up if he meets is annual quota of blowing 2 games a year with his terrible play calling.
