All the positive moves since the end of 2016 don't give you any hope ? Sure last year was awful but the season before that took them into the hunt for the playoff into November. I guess it's what each individual chooses to focus on as a fan. I m optimistic.

So are you saying Kelly did not say these things and that the article is fake? Have we reached that point that Kelly's own words is fake news? 4-8 and are still in denial. Kelly said that fundraising distracted him from doing his job. How is that Fake news? And how in the world can you defend him? Maybe you should think about rooting for ND instead of Kelly.

This is exactly why I have been critical of Swarbrick - in 6 seasons Kelly had (arguably) 1 significant win.....OU 2012 in Norman.
Kelly's teams have otherwise underachieved, with great consistency - playing down to and too often losing to 'lesser' competition.
Then Happy Jack extends Kelly's contract with an apparent raise?
I thought Weis was a champ at finding new and different ways to lose games - Kelly would give Charlie a run for his money on that one.
Kelly actually tops Weis in innovative ways to lose games. Kelly has had much more talented teams and has proven adept at losing to teams he should rout.

Talk is cheap. Whether you're pro-Kelly or anti-Kelly, it doesn't matter at this point. Whether he's taking responsibility or making excuses, we shall all soon find out.
It is pretty clear to everybody (Kelly included) that he will not have the opportunity to make any excuses for 2017. He has to win or he's going to be shown the door.
It's time to shut the eff up and go out and prove it on the field!!

Kelly did exactly what his new employer required him to do. It happens more often than not when a coach changes jobs. You are the clueless one.
Sorry Charlie. If you recall at the time bk was the "hot coach everyone wanted". He was in charge and had a lot of programs looking at him. He had an undefeated season at Cincy. ND would have left him coach for another month if bk had the nads to tell them he wanted to coach in the bowl game. He let his players down, he has no character, and he's a mediocre coach. ND really thought they had something.......8 win seasons.
You and I could have coached ND to a 4-8 season for a lot less money. bk was a complete disaster.
False. ND hierarchy required him to be on the job.best situation for all involved. It is one of the negatives of coaching changes that occur before seasons end. Given the recruiting calendar it needs to be that way. You continue to let your hate get in the way off common sense. Enjoy the season as you root for Brian Kelly and his team to fail.

You don't know that, you are assuming that. If bk told them he was coaching cincy in the bowl game they would have let him. Remember the ND brass thought they had a real prize......unfortunately not.The only thing I will be rooting for is for bk to be gone. Hopefully they win 11-12 games, and bk will again think he is ready for the pros and he leaves. Doubtful any NFL teams would want him though.

Weis recruited great offensive talent, but he generally flailed in landing solid defensive guys. Hard for me to zealously defend him, but I don't think anything he did compares to the baffling end zone pick vs Tulsa, the Little Giants play vs MSU, the bizarre 2 point conversion attempt vs Northwestern, defying the hurricane vs NC State...to name a few.
Proof that it was ... is ... a bad hire .... we understand these facts get in the way of your totally flawed reasoning ..... and thus you choose to ignore those facts ....
I actually read the article today .... because I rarely read anything BK is spewing ... proof the guy still doesn't get it .... participating in fundraisers and doing public speaking on behalf of the university .... is .... and ALWAYS has been .... a part of being head coach at ND .... deal with it .... but no .... he is passing the buck again

It's been a while, but wasn't most of the talent from 2009 freshman/red shirt freshmen?
I have been on numerous boards for past 20 years. Believe me I have posted numerous times how ND was making a mistake hiring this clown
