Last year Trumbetti was the story from camp..and with only one day of pads this is just rumblings..
Last year I said that the freshmen class was way under rated and would see the field...didn't realize it would be due to a onslaught of injuries..but this freshmen class is no different..
They are fast and ready is the overall consensus I've heard lot's of confidence and the ability to back it up!
Frosh that has turned heads is Mykelti Williams...he's bumped up the depth chart 3 days in a row and shows no sign of slowing down..He's aggressive has a great nose for the ball and is very fast.
I think he'll see time this year, not gonna replace our current starters but they like everything he does...Needs to be a bit more humble..this Freshmen class likes to celebrate a bit, and has had to be put in their place a little by the upper classmen..but that's a good problem to have!
D line looks great...with that being said the O line CONTROLS the scrimmage..
Nelson is "amazingly strong" is the exact words I've heard.. No surprise but the staff feels they could have one of the best if not the best O line in the country... and DEEP!!!!
Crawford is "pure football" and does things you can't teach already...has really made an impression not only on the field but meetings...drills...everything..
Frosh CJ cuts faster than any player on the team and is a legit one cut and gone type of player...now he's small in comparison but offers a change of pace and will most likely see tons of special team work...
Zaire is "100%"...that's all I keep hearing...His arm is alive and accurate and he controls the huddle..he's putting in time on film and when he breaks the pocket he's a legit homerun threat with the ball in his hands...
WRs are being taught to watch not only for the pass but for when he pulls the ball down it's BLOCKING TIME! Give Zaire the opportunity to get as much as he can without risk...
With all the talk of Joe being the "Joe Montana" of the D I've heard that Grace will push for his spot! Grace is smooth and fully healthy and the players think that battle will be very interesting and most think just flip a coin it's too close to call..
Williams has impressed with the ball in his hands but they feel Folston and CJ will lock down the back field!
Things look good with QB 1 and now QB2 that they think Wimbush will get red shirted unless something happens due to injury..they are that confident...
Pretty exciting time to be IRISH! GO IRISH!
