Jurkovec

Isn't Phil Jerkovec the guy that Bryan Driskell used to berate Tommy Rees/Brian Kelly over? Saying they played favoritism of Ian Book and that they were incompetent at coaching/developing QBs and there was no good reason to start Book over Jerkovec and that they would regret his transfer.

That take didn't age well

He will if healthy. Read last night the plan is for him to play TE, full-time, the rest of the season.
I mean get in the game… one thing to move to te now, another to quickly play in games

It actually aged very well. Phil is the prototype of mismatched skillset with QB coach. His lack of development squarely falls on Kelly and Rees. He had all the tools, ND even lost other QB recruits because they didn't want to compete with him... and Kelly and company blew it. Three years of wasted development is hard to come back from...then an injury plus COVID

Then the same QB coach Rees...made the same mistake with buchner. The fact is Rees has zero attitude to develop a great athlete into a competent QB.

Pretty sure yours is the bad take...

Phil jerkovec was here for 2 seasons then transferred. If you have any potential whatsoever, at 19 years old, under three different coaching staffs, you'll find your way onto the field.

I just think it's funny how irate fans were over Phil jerko's departure because of Bryan Driskell frothing at the mouth about how wrong NDs coaching staff was in their evaluations of him, and how great/much potential phil jerkovec had. (apparently Driskell knew more from behind his monitor than the millionaires who are coaching ND who saw the player live and in person over the course of hundreds of reps)

Now Phil Jerkovec is a TE at Pitt lol

According to you he is the type of elite athlete ND needs to recruit. You are the biggest hypocrite on this forum. Not only are you low IQ, but we can add hypocrite to your persona. You talk out of your ass and have zero knowledge about football. You are the village idiot on this forum.

Yes, ND needs more elite prospects because elite prospects materialize into elite FBS players more often than non-elite prospects do. But all prospects have a pretty low hit rate in general at this level (regardless of their rarity).

Do you think the Cleveland Browns prefer a 3rd round pick to a 1st round pick now because they blew a first round pick on Manziel that one year? No. Of course not. That 1st round pick is still way more valuable than a 3rd round pick even if the 1st round pick didn't materialize as expected in that specific instance.

Wow. Should have stayed at ND to get his degree and played intramurals.
F+ had him as the next Tom Brady. 😎

How can that be??? I was told he was the greatest QB to ever suit up for ND, he just wasn't given a chance.
He's actually going to play both QB and TE at the same time, so he finally has receivers worthy of his passes.

BC and Pitt didn’t develop him either, so there’s that.

I don't belive any of that. The guy was never going to be a great QB at this level. Excellent athlete for sure but it takes way more than that to play the position. Just didn't have the requisite skill set. To continually blame coaches is silly. He's been at three places and it hasn't worked out. What's the common denominator ?

According to our resident expert Chase, he was the type of star-laden player ND needs. But if said player doesn't work out, it's always the fault of the coaches.

It's never the player's fault, right Chase?

Milroe is looking pretty good, progressing nicely at Bama.

Well, the kid had the misfortune to be mentored by 2 QB guru’s, renown for destroying a kids talents and self confidence, he like others, never recovered

Many did. I was one of them, there was not much not to like. And frankly, until PJ got injured at BC, he was off to a good start at BC as a CFB QB. Never recovered from being injured.
Injuries have derailed many athletes’ careers.

Then who’s at fault for failing to develop an even more seasoned PJ at BC ?

Maybe, just maybe, he didn’t have the necessary talent !
