It is 1977 all over again !

I hope you’re right brother! It’s so nice to see them man handle a USC team like that. For the first time in forever the D is domnant again. Adams should be in the Heisman picture now. I’m starting to feel like that fourth grade kid watching Notre Dame football again. It is fantastic!!!!!

Spot on. I used to cringe when our defense would come out. Now they're fun to watch.

Brodi, I've been having that old familiar feeling too. I believe it will be the fourth or fifth game next fall before we see the full transformation of this defense.

Look out Alabama (Texas) here come the red hot Irish with a superhuman Giant killer Quarterback--Brandon Wimbush (Joe Montana)!!!!!!
We stumbled against Georgia (Ole Miss) but we will not lose again !!
Go Irish !!
Beat North Carolina State !!

*** In 1977 we beat USC 49 to 19 !! In 2017 we beat USC 49 TO 14 !!!

BODI----Nice!!!! I know you are posting good things about this ND team even while I am away.

Need to get the passing game up to par. Then this will be a complete team. Impressed with the defense so far and running game, but the pass will be needed.

1977!!!! I was 5 years away from being born!!!
Well, that would be the 1945 Irish Team in my case, and I know we had a ranked team until we got our butts stomped by Army 49-0, while Blanchard and Davis dominated. ND football history is really a fascinating ride for those who love the Fighting Irish. If interested, you might want to get your hands on the package of classic ND games presented in VHS format. Not being an ass, really suggesting this if interested, as the classic games against Miami and Florida St and USC and Alabama etc... are in fact, classics!

It helped early, but they will need it more if the run gets shut down ala the Georgia game.

The Oline did not block well for him in that game either.

I started watching Notre Dame football in 1970 when I was eight. The three games that stood out for me was when Joe Theisman threw for 526 yards in the rain against USC in a loss. The Eric Penick 84 yard run agaisnt USC in 1973 when the Irish beat USC 23 to 14 on their way to the National title. And the 1973 game of the century against Alabama for the Championship.
