Saban cracks me up. He refers to a 2011 Georgia Southern game to rant about how tough these games can be. You'd never know from his rant, but Alabama won that Georgia Southern game 45-21.

Can't believe Saban could do all that with a straight face.

He said all of that to send a message to his team not to be complacent and screw up what they've already earned.

C Southern is not your ordinary FCS team. They are ranked 9th in the country with a terrific defense and a VG offensive running game. Take them lightly at your own peril. Nick Saban is right to keep his team focused on this game and not Auburn. Just like ND needs to stay focused on BC and not Stanford.

In his defense, Georgia Southern ran all over Bama in that game.

Charleston Southern might be better than Oregon St, or Purdue, or UMass.

No doubt. But none of those teams would be a challenge for Alabama either. If there's any genuine concern about Charleston Southern beating Alabama, then Alabama shouldn't even be in the playoff discussion. This year's Alabama isn't like 2007 Michigan.

Alabama's a very good football team. Saban's just playing the media game. I posted the video because I think its funny. He was really good talking up that Georgia Southern game - I would have never guessed from his comments that it was still a blowout. Then again, maybe Saban really believes winning by 24 is a tough game because Alabama's been good for so long.

Did you hear his nervous finger tapping on the podium? Maybe he didnt like the fact that his team was favored over an FCS team by less than 3 td's and he has to play at 9am pacific time. If he doesnt like defending FCS opponents then dont schedule them.

I think he was just trying to keep the media from picking on Alabama for playing an FCS school, and it looks like it worked.

They may have 9 wins but they come against teams like Liberty and Troy. These FCS teams don't have the athletes to compete against the elite teams of the FBS. I have no doubt they could compete against teams that are down like Illinois. It will be a slaughter tomorrow deep in the heart of Dixie.

Troy destroyed Charleston Southern 41 to 14. Illinois would beat them 50 to 0.

Here is a team picture of the Charleston Southern football team who strikes fear into the hearts of Nick Saban and his Alabama football team.

Interesting how the players are all seated by the numbers on their jerseys. Neat.

That is because they cant read their names on the chairs so they just tell them to sit by number.
