Headline that a Calif man had jumped the White House fence,

Love you guys too! That was me! But I just wanted to give Donnie Trumpets a big hug. I'm loving all the tax breaks coming my way. I'm in the money!

Made my Susan Goin recipe -- Corned Beef and Cabbage -- last night for my kids who are home for break (they'll be away for St Pats so I thought we break out the Guinness and Jamesons a week early.) Bodi -- do a search for that recipe it is great. Kids loved it. The Dubliners and Shane MacGowen joined us to make it a great night.

My favorite Irish song:

Go Irish! Beat the Dookies.

For you DIP: “Being Irish, he had an abiding sense of tragedy, which sustained him through temporary periods of joy.”
W.B. Yeats

And my favorite poem:

“When You Are Old"

WHEN you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;

How many loved your moments of glad grace,
And loved your beauty with love false or true,
But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you,
And loved the sorrows of your changing face;

And bending down beside the glowing bars,
Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled
And paced upon the mountains overhead
And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.”
W.B. Yeats

And this has come true before my eye:

Men Improve With The Years:

I am worn out with dreams;
A weather-worn, marble triton
Among the streams;
And all day long I look
Upon this lady's beauty
As though I had found in a book
A pictured beauty,
Pleased to have filled the eyes
Or the discerning ears,
Delighted to be but wise,
For men improve with the years;
And yet, and yet,
Is this my dream, or the truth?
O would that we had met
When I had my burning youth!
But I grow old among dreams,
A weather-worn, marble triton
Among the streams.

Go all the way - Charles Bukowski

“If you're going to try, go all the way.

Otherwise, don't even start.

This could mean losing girlfriends, wives, relatives and maybe even your mind.

It could mean not eating for three or four days.

It could mean freezing on a park bench.

It could mean jail.

It could mean derision.

It could mean mockery--isolation.

Isolation is the gift.

All the others are a test of your endurance, of how much you really want to do it.

And, you'll do it, despite rejection and the worst odds.

And it will be better than anything else you can imagine.

If you're going to try, go all the way.

There is no other feeling like that.

You will be alone with the gods, and the nights will flame with fire.

You will ride life straight to perfect laughter.

It's the only good fight there is.”

Tell Kelly to put that one up in the locker room, Bodi! Nice. I really like Bukowski's Bluebird poem.

Who woulda thunk it, poetry on this site.

Feel bad for the b-ball boys, played their hearts out but just got cold in the last ten (and at one point Duke had all top 20 recruits on the floor.) And we had no on in the top 100! Gutsy run for Brey's boys.

Why can't Brey get just one one-and-done guy like Tatum?! Just one!

And DIP -- love that one... these days I'm feeling it more and more weather worn as I am... but a marble triton nonetheless.
