Hartman to ND!

I would've liked to have seen Hartman with Mayer. It would also be nice if we had a 5 star receiver or two. Hope the receivers grow a lot so it's not a case of good QB lame WR's.

That's not weird....
You seem homophobic to a level of suspicious. I can very confidently admire a man’s physique while remaining completely heterosexual. I’m not sure you can. Honestly, thinking there’s any degree of gay in admiring a guys physique is not something heterosexuals think unless called out by someone gay, bi, or someone deeply homophobic. Which are you?

He will be a great addition. Injuries are never expected but happen. I just hope behind a better o line he cuts down on Interceptions. Buchner threw 3 in bowl. Even at 2 a game that would average 24 for 12 games. But he had been off for some time so there's that.

for those questioning arm strength, the throw here at the 2 minute mark is one I haven't seen an ND qb make as good since probably Kiser. I agree hartman doesn't have an elite arm, but people I think don't realize due to wakes slow mesh, hartman didn't have the ability to step into throws much. This one travels about 49 yards in the air to the side. Absolute dime.

Book had a better arm than he showed. He was so hesitant to throw downfield and would never throw over the middle you rarely got to see his solid arm. He also wouldn't stay in the pocket. It's a tough balance, staying in the pocket vs buying more time. The issue book did have was rolling out or throws on the move, this is where his arm strength dropped off like a cliff.

Wimbush had probably the strongest arm maybe in ND history just had no clue where it was going.

Kiser was our last QB really capable of good throws downfield, coan wasn't too bad but his awful pocket presence and average oline last year he didn't have the time.

That ball traveled like 46 yards in the air. Book had one that went 54 yards in the air.

I dont admire others guys physiques. Thats not me. But if that's what you are into.... not that there's anything wrong with that

49-48, no less

What game was the 54 yard one, tech, or are you referencing blue gold game where he crow hopped into it?

I think Book had a few that traveled 50+ yards - but it was not consistent and not what made Book a good college QB.
That said -- Hartman can consistently push the ball downfield -- and hit them in stride -- better than Book, Pyne, Buchner (ND's most recent QB's). That is the aspect that ND has been missing out on.

The one I put on here. At least 54 yards in air no curl hop

Hartman has no highlight where he throws as far as Book did on that throw

Probably 56 in the air
Semantics -- bottom line is -- The long ball was not Book's forte -- he still was an effective mid-range college QB who utilized his mobility to hit many mid range throws getting out of trouble. Book was not going to beat you with deep throws -- can he wind up and get one there -- absolutely. But he was not going to make a steady diet of it.

That said, Hartman's game is much better than Book's in pushing the ball downfield. Play-calling and comfortability also helps here. If you watch the 10 minute clip above, you will see a lot of throws 30+ yards -- and a few in the 50+ range.

With Book at the helm (same with Pyne), Rees did not call many shots downfield. Only he knows why. Maybe than changes with Hartman behind center.

I don't know if they were pick 6's, but in Sam's 3rd start, he threw 2 picks, was sacked 4 times, and had a QB RTG of 90. So, I hope Buchner doesn't leave if Sam gets the start, because Buchner had a much better 3rd game and should develop into a much better QB than Sam. Whether it's at ND or not...

Read that Hartman had a rib removed and wants to turn it into a necklace. The dudes tattoos, the rib to a necklace thing, beard, hair, etc. IB was getting female questions about his good looks. The dude is going to sell more female 10 jerseys than anyone. I expect massive NIL money for Hartman.

Hartman was asked about pressure. His response, “pressure builds diamonds”.

Never seen Hartman throw one 55 in the air
If you make a right quick decision don’t need to… but I understand your point and I think he’ll have more opportunities to step into deep throws, so we’ll see

I respect Book, he worked his ass off for ND, but if anyone is asking me who I’d rather start under center with the same receivers and TE, I’m taking Hartman.
