Forget about the passing game at least until Stepherson comes back. (Practice? We talkin about Practice?)
It will all be about Nelson, Mustipher, Kraemer. McGlinchey. Bars, Hainsey, Smythe (Winning the trenches!!)and the Five Horseman--- Adams, Wimbush,Williams, Jones, and Mcintosh running over and passed people !!...

This team knows it's identity now ! There will be no stopping the Irish ! They will wear teams out and dominate the third and fourth quarters. Run the Damn ball !! We all got our wish !! 15 out of 15 in the redZone (13 tds and 2 field goals)
The Irish will break almost every rushing record for Notre Dame this year. 4 tds by a QB ! Two 200-yd rushers -- 1st time school history ! 515 yds rushing -- most since 1969
Averaged school-record 10.1 yds/rush ---Record !

Wimbush is the new honey badger ! Passing yards ? He don't give a %$#@---- Passing efficiency? He don't give a #$%@ ! Completions? He don't give a @#$% ! Defensive ends and linebackers smashing him in the face ?? He don't give a @#$% ! Chip Long frustrated and questioning his throwing? He don't give a %@#$ ! Wide receivers not getting open ? He don't give a #%@$ !
Wide receivers dropping his passes? He don't give a $@%# !

All Wimbush cares about is his offense scoring touchdowns and winning games !! And him and his teammates are going to smile and have fun doing it !! The Georgia game taught them two things.. Losing sucks ! And don't waste time trying to pass ! At least not until Stepherson gets back !
Go Irish ! Road Warriors ! Beat Sparty like they used to beat us with Javon Ringer and company ! Run it at em until they can't stop us ! Win the battle of the trenches !

Bodi, I agree with this assessment, Right now we playing teams we do not have to pass too much to win. It would be good to create some pass plays that would develop some confidence in WB. Hopefully, Stepherson will help after next weeks game,

Dude you are bi-polar.

Took the words from my keyboard! Last week -- he was trashing ND, now, he is back on the high horse again!

His pharmacist must be one nice dude!

"At least not until Stepherson gets back"

And, if by chance -- he NEVER get s back -- then what?

Bodi has the same pattern of emotions and thoughts as the rest of us ND fans, his just happen to be on steroids and in full display. At the end of the day, Bodi is all Irish. He hates to lose and can go off the deep end in finding fault, and he puts these thoughts under the lights and in full display. Each day following a loss, he nudges back to being all about the Irish winning, but it takes the full week to get back in stride. He was back to his norm before the BC game and in full stride leading up to MSU.

I love the optimism but breaking all the ND rushing records? I don't know about that.

We've played two teams we run through fairly easily and one tough defense that we tallied 53 yards collectively on the ground.

Moreover

Do you really think Kelly can help himself? You think he can refrain from passing so much and run?

Lastly the runs that are called.....

Athletic defenses are very hard to run on the perimeter against. Physical defenses you can but they are tougher straight ahead.

Kelly does the exact opposite. Georgia flies to the football. What's he do? Run east west. He always does this kind of thing.

I thought a guy named Chip Long was Offensive Coordinator this season? Telx, I liked what you said about my Irish friend Bodi. I was counting on our defense to win the second half last Saturday. What a cool second half of football. Why do you think I seldom post on gameday?

Do you mean Chip Long? I mean -- I thought (and Kelly mentioned it a few times) it was his game to call, not Kelly's. Yes, the HC has input..

Didn't Stepherson have a case of the dropsies last year too? Doesn't really help the receiving group when he comes back.... He could however help the run game by stretching the field and giving them more space on draws and screens.

Lol...

Yeah my bad.
Sanford, Martin, Denbrock, etc

I've heard the same thing all before. I'm letting them do their thing.

Blah blah blah.

You can call the play alright..just as long as its the same play Kelly would have called.

I'll believe it when they can "Actually" do it against a team like $c, Miami, and other top teams!

Bc, Temple c'mon man?

I'm a fan too. Yet I'm realistic. Had they rushed for 200 against Georgia. I would feel much more optimistic.

1 point loss to a team expected to compete for the SEC championship is by no means a lost season.

ND keeps beating the cupcakes on the schedule by a wide margin, and wins the other handful of games vs close/ranked teams and they are in the playoff discussion come week 8.

I don't think it's likely to happen (if i had to put my mortgage on it, we're looking at another ~8 win season), but as fans, until ND loses another game, we still have something to be hopeful for.

Good morning Ara. You seldom post on game day for the same reason I don't read or post anymore during a game. Just crazy anti Kelly rants and doom and gloom predictions from damn near the first snap of the game. Like you, really enjoyed the second half as we wore them down on both sides of the ball. MSU as always, will be a tough physical game and good test.

Bodi is a great fan, like the rest of us. He's allowed to have any opinion that he wants- any day that he wants.

This ground attack is pretty damn impressive.
I agree. It's impressive against high school teams like Temple and BC. Against relevant competition? Not so much. See UGA.

Telx, I find myself posting less and less. I see a lot of good things happening around the football program right now. We nearly beat a team that brought 18 6.1 and 6.0 players to the game (8-6.1 five star &10-6.0 four star players).

Well Ara, the passing game is a major concern, but absolutely love the way the guys are competing. This team plays hard and with heart, and they don't stop with the first sign of adversity. Lots to like about this team, and lots of areas for improvement. This is the first time in several years where I felt the team was on the right track and likely to show improvement on a weekly basis.

I think we are going have to pass the ball to beat MSU. Not throw it all over the place, but have a competitive passing game. We didn't get that going vs. a good Georgia defense and that is why we lost. (Even if we were there at the last drive.) MSU will load the box, dare our receivers to get open in man coverage, and dare BW to hit them. I want to see an improvement here.

ARA, trust me when I tell you that i don't want to say the following...i really don't...however

You said something that has been a theme for much of BK tenure.

We NEARLY beat...

See there have been many upon many NEARLY victories under Brian Kelly. It's old. It's run its course. At some point you'd think the law of averages would kick in and we'd win one or two of those games.

Yet somehow BK defies even the law of averages and keeps the team perfect. As in zero wins against those tough opponents.

At this point I'd rather see him Student Body Left then 1 zone read after another.

Thanks Telx. I think I got everything out my system after the Georgia game.I did not get mad or anxious at anytime during the BC game even when ND was losing. Win or lose I am done venting. And I do deserve the criticism coming my way. I give it out and I can take it also. Go Irish ! Beat Sparty !.

Hi old friend. I don't think the coaching staff was prepared for our weak passing game against Georgia. If they played Georgia now they would come out with a different gameplan.. At least now we have Coach Elko to keep us in games. Wimbush and the receivers have to figure out something. Even Tony Rice had to pass. Wimbush is Tony Rice on steroids.
