Take away his covering RB's coming out of the backfield...I think he is a good player. Hope he gets more time on the field. He has good instincts and tackles well.

He played very well in his start yesterday. I don't know if he's permanently beaten out Onwualu, or if he just started because of the opponent (Martini being bigger, and better at run-stuffing).

Did well last year. Without really having the system down.

Think he is going to do a lot more growing up this year.

I know he and Tranquil didn't play the same position, but Drue seemed to play alot at outside linebacker this year early on. So there will be plenty of snaps for him, and he will have plenty of opportunity to prove himself.

Did Trumbetti play at all ? Don't remember seeing his number 98 on the field .

I don't remember seeing him much. But he is a pass specialist. Imagine you will more of him in games like USC and Clemson. I still think he is a hidden weapon that no one really talks about. If he can get a little bit quicker of a step he could easily be an elite pass rusher.

Trumbetti did not play. Martini lacks lower athleticism. I.e. he is a tad clumsy. His hips, are not very athletic. They are not smooth whatsoever. He is very good straight ahead but you do need a little lateral quickness and change of direction at this level. He has neither unfortunately.

still recorded 8 tackles against GTech. 3 of them solo. Including a great open field tackle on Thomas.

Not a bad outing by my account.
Naturally you side step the point and selectively read my post....
I said Martini is fine going straight. Playing GT is pretty straight forward. You will have to turn and run to the edge on occasions but again that is straight line speed which Martini is fine.
The GT game was perfect for him.
He lacks lateral athleticism. In space if you will breaking down in the open and playing against the cut backs. I want him to be that guy. I really do. He has improved from last year which is always a bonus.
