The fact that that any team but Bama is ranked ahead of them is proof of the stupidity of the polling.

Agree. I am looking forward to Saturday night.

Of all the one loss teams ND easily has best loss.
Best loss? Are you fricking kidding me? ND could have easily won that game if bk and Long used their brains and gave the ball to Dexter more than ZERO times. Once again your boy bk can't win a big game. That's what he does.

The NCAA/ESPN are setting up another so called "game of the century" between Alabama and Georgia. They want to get two sec teams in the playoffs.

ND’s loss in the only loss that would not be considered an upset. Maybe being the victim of a random surprise upset is more easily overlooked than a game that is thought to be a big game that has everyones attention.

I think Georgia is a good team. It may be that at the end of their regular season the only ranked team they will have beaten is Notre Dame.

Yeah, there have never been two teams from the same conference in the playoffs before. But this is what ESPN and the NCAA are angling for this year. Has nothing to do with the fact that Bama and UGA are very good teams.

I am glad we discussed this at lunch.....see you next Sat,

Have you looked at Georgia's schedule lately? They beat a ND team without a passing game by one pt. "Very good" football teams? They have none. They just have a bunch of bad teams that the few "good" teams feast on. They will get what they want in the end, just like every year.

i certainly don't understand why Dexter did not play in that game, but to assume that alone is why we lost is a stretch. I'd say it had more to do with the fact that Georgia's defense was fast and strong and we could not pass well enough to keep them honest. I'd also argue that good old fashioned power football, with a QB lined up under center, and trying to run the ball right at them may have proven more successful than what another poster described as our offensive line "square dancing" at the point of attack and not just firing off the ball.

OK. What teams are better than Bama and UGA? And if they will "get what they want, just like every year," what is it? Because I don't see any pattern.

Cannot help you if you cannot see it by now. It's been going on for ten years now.

But the four team playoff has only been for three years. And no conference has ever had more than one team in the playoff. So tell me again---what are they going to get, just like every year? And answer my question---what teams are better than Bama and UGA?

If Kizer had stayed for his senior year this would be a final four team -- we would have beaten Ga. and would have had the balanced offense to give Alabama a real game.

I know, I know....

Agreed

Stu4don, you may be right. At this point in BW's career, he hasn't reached the performance of Kizer. He may in the future but it hasn't happened yet. If the Irish can develop a consistently productive passing game, they can be VERY dangerous offensively against great defenses. Defensively, the Irish have improved immensely versus last year. This weekend they will play against their most challenging offense so far given Fromm was in his first start at QB when the Irish played GA. We will know much more about how the defense will perform against talented offenses Saturday.

I've said this before I really miss Dembrock coaching the WRs. The blocking has been solid but the routes and communication is just off....

But!

The O-line! Just looked at CBS draft projection and Nelson and McG are both #1 off the board at their positions. We've never seen that at ND. Add Mustipher, Bars (probably both NFL players in the future) and the emerging RTs and this may turn out to be our best O-line in a long time.

God Bless ya, Harry.

The only question mark is what this defense (and our young secondary) will do vs. a top QB... We'll find out next week and vs. Miami.

It appears to me the USC QB becomes average at best when pressured. If he has time, he looks like Joe Namath, or for you younger guys, that guy at New England, whatever his name is, I can't remember.;)

Agreed again. I have been critical of Wimbush's passing, but the more games that pass the less impressed I am with most of our receivers.

As usual the discussion went WAY over your head. The committee compares quality of wins and losses. A one point loss to a quality, highly ranked opponent carries much more weight than a loss to an unranked one. Do I have to explain everything to you ? Geez, read a book.

Sorry mr. Clown, don't want to hear about quality Losses. Its about winning something your high school dodge ball team doesn't do much. I understand though, you are a stupid Libitard who thinks he knows everything.

If ND did not play Georgia, most people would not be talking about Georgia on this board. They would be saying that Georgia has an easy schedule and that they don't deserve to be ranked that high, just like Penn St. and Wisconsin. Alabama and Georgia will go as far as the ncaa/esp want them to go. OSU and Oklahoma can beat either one of them, just like they curb stomped Alabama in back to back years.

You obviously don't t understand the procedures used by the committee. Sad when one considers all the information out there that is readily available if a person is actually interested in learning something.

That's dumb. They did play them and it effects both teams SOS. Facts are facts. You act like the whole thing is predetermined.

spoken like a true Libitard.

Georgia is getting to the meat of their schedule much like the Irish ☘️ we will see how good the bulldogs are and the Irish ☘️

Apparently, you are jut a damned fool who says things without any reason for saying so.
Tell us all how the NCAA or ESPN control who wins the games?
Third time asking you this question: which teams are better than Bama and UGA?

This poster is apparently so devoid of any knowledge that he lashes out with attacks on one's political beliefs, without even knowing what those beliefs are. An absolute imbecile.
