The season isn’t over. If we win out and show we’re massively improved on offense we’re still in the playoffs at 11-1. Still everything to play for despite this horrible loss but the margin of error is gone. We have to win convincingly next week and the week after. I also think Freeman has to take the cuffs off Denbrock and allow a QB competition focused on the vertical passing attack. Either Leonard can develop or he has to be replaced sooner rather than later. We’ll tumble in the polls, that’s fine. We have 10 weeks to recover. All that matters is that come December 5th we’re in the playoffs, the defense is playing lights out, and the offense is averaging 40 ppg over the last 6 games.
I just don’t give a crap. Freeman got all my get out of jail cards More than a coach should have because I like him n he recruits well. Not enough. He must be fired.
Some fans have talked about that for years and it hasn't happened to this point and it will never happen.

1. The loss to NIU was horrific and inexcusable
2. The entire program has rallied to make sure it wasn’t repeated
3. BK is going to be fired, and deservedly so, at LSU. Fickell may not be far behind him at Wisconsin. Riley may be coaching for his job against ND in two weeks.
4. Freeman has grown, and continues to grow, into a remarkable head coach.
5. ND’s defense is championship caliber. Whether we win a playoff game will come down to the offensive progress over the next 8 weeks.
Oh, and @sjb75 - do yourself a favor and stop bringing up BK at every opportunity. It’s been 3 years since he took another job while in a recruit’s home.

I THINK it happens next year given the structure of his buyout. LSU will have to fundraise for it and it’s big enough it will take time. Only way it happens this year is if a donor comes forward to write a $60M check as I think LSU is still paying out Ed Orgeron’s buyout.
Lincoln Riley is owed 90 million if he is fired. USC is hiring a new President next July. You truly believe Riley gets fired if he loses to Notre Dame?
They could try to fire Linc for cause now. He got in trouble with the ncaa for recruiting violations. Not sure how real it is but it's being talked about
You can't fire MF. He still will win the majority of his games. And because MF is acceptable given what the ND administration aspires to in football. And because no top coach will most likely come.
I like MF. Even if I no longer have faith he will become a top coach. Again, I don't see a better alternative.
I'll still follow the rest of the season...and still have fun. I just need to get over today's crap loss.
