For what its worth...

5 years ago I could watch every Notre Dame game on cable . Even the away games were available on either abc or espn. The last 2 seasons has cost me at least 80-100 bucks in different networks that I had to sign up for to watch them play. Last season every week my wife would shake her head “ what network we gotta buy this week “ ??
And they call it GREATER CHOICE.

I think the reasons that big media wants us to adopt streaming are the same reasons that we don't like streaming. For example, we can change the channel on a television to another game with one button.

Not sure where you live -- but outside of the games on Peacock the last few years, there is not a station that ND could not be seen on for free (ok -- maybe the ACC Network as that could be an alternate package in some areas) --

I am going to adding Peacock next month. It is annoying, but really cheap. Not something worth crying over.

Those 3 games there are 80 dollars. Just ask my wife lol
We had to buy sling for and after the first month it was 80 dollars. For the extra orange plus blue package and so on and do forth. To get acc network vs duke and there’s at least 2 other games I had to sign up for to see the game on live tv over the last 3 years.
Plus my monthly cable bill

Only game I miss is Peacock game. Get all the rest without anything more than Dish. I add ESPN plus for 5.99 a month to get the FCS games but not a necessity.

I probably spend about $50 per game drinking at the local watch parties.

Same. I get suckered in to having 2-3 subscriptions I don’t want nor need.

The trouble with STREAMING.

The article is from ZERO HEDGE, a RIGHT to EXTREME RIGHT site I read. I also read LEFT to EXTREME LEFT sites as well as MOST EVERYTHING IN BETWEEN as I have NO PARTY or IDEOLOGICAL AFFILIATION, THANK GOD.

I mention this to preempt any potential political response as what I've attached is not meant to activate anyone's political BIAS or ANIMUS.

It's just about STREAMING which like a lot of products starts out as the ECONO PLAN ALTERNATIVE but then hikes prices AS SOON AS IT REACHES CRITICAL MASS MARKET SHARE.

For any of you older guys -- REMEMBER DISCOUNT DRUG STORES? And how in some cases, they became QUASI-MONOPOLISTIC BRANDS?

STREAMING may be headed there.

You realize you could have done free trials for all three right?

If apple buys ESPN, don't be shocked to see most everything transition to streaming. They'd make a killing making ESPN free on Apple TV and making everyone else pay

I've been streaming for years for the convenience, but I'm not watching anything on ESPN due to what they've done to some of their best employees that had nothing to do with poor performance.
When the Irish are on ESPN I will be tuning in on Westward One, or Surius
