For Those Who Do Not Like Brian Kelly....

Crickets.... All the Kelly haters would regret wishing Kelly would leave or be fired. I would like to hear realistic coaches that would take the job if Kelly left.

Crickets because all the defenders of mediocrity said the same exact thing after the 3rd or 4th year of Bob Davie, Ty Willingham and Charlie Weis. There will always be a large cadre of people who defend mediocrity by arguing we can't do any better and it would be foolish to try.

That's why the University knows they can get away with it. Plenty of folks will keep buying the tickets and jerseys as long as the win 8 games and a few of the 4 losses to unranked teams are really super close and exciting losses!!! They'll look the other way when get WAXED by elite teams and come up with lame excuses defending the coaching year after year after year..

And do you have a list of coaches who wouldn't take the job? You Kelly lovers are great. You all defend mediocrity and your go to defense is "Well, well, we can't do any better!!! Who would even take the job????"

First, that is a straight up loser's attitude. Second, It calls for speculation and speculation is impossible to prove and therefore, a Kelly fan can pretend to be, brave, smart and right without competing....which they are used to doing.

For example, Let's take the typical Kelly Lover's position:
"Yeah, well there's no WAY Saban, Meyer or Harbaugh would ever come here"

Yeah? So what. Nobody mentioned Saban, Meyer or Harbaugh.

"Oh yeah? Well WHAT awesome savior do you think is going to come on and do better than Brian Kelly????? Hmmmmmm? If you want him out then you have to suggest a replacement!!!"

O.K. Let's start with Art Briles, Gus Malzahn, Mark Dantonio, Chris Petersen, Gary Patterson,
Kevin Sumlin, Dabo Swinney, David Cutcliffe, Mark Helfrich, Hugh Freeze..... Talk to them and see who's interested at the 2-4 million range. If its a real winner go higher, heck the addition to the stadium is 400 million.

At which point the mediocrity loving Kelly fanboy gets upset because they were only prepared to Google one name to find his losses and hold them out like some proof of something.

Face it. Kelly's offense is brittle against great competition. We can't line up and play power football. Look at what Harbaugh built at Stanford and what he's built AGAIN at Michigan. Look at what Barry Alvarez built at Wisconsin with 2 star and three star talent.

Power football.
We play Powder puff football. It looks nice against the weak sisters on the schedule, but Kelly's teams will always get exposed. If you can't see that by now, I guess you just don't know much about football other than what wings to order with it at BW3.
how about paying attention ? in the last 4 coaching searches please tell me what high profile successful coaches showed ANY serious interest in the job.

you reference power football and then mention briles and helfrich. you have no credibility.

Brian Kelly is a top three CFB coach and no one on the list provided here is anywhere near an upgrade.

If this was Kelly's 1st year or 2nd year...I would not be so negative about him because we would not have the history that we have now and we would certainly afford him the time to bring in his guys and get the program up to par. But this is his 6th year, and every year repeats itself with this guy. Make all the excuses you want about Clemson and the weather, but Clemson also played in that weather. Kelly ran into an 8 man for for 3 quarters and went for 2 point conversion way too early in the game. Same old Kelly. Then, yesterday, comes out flinging the ball against a defense that averaged 240 lbs up front. There is no rhyme or reason to his approach week in and week out. Every week, even the announcers question is play calling. Doug Flutie repeatedly questioned my ND was not imposing its will through the running game.

The guy with 5 aliases speaks his normal dribble. Don't you have an FSU issue you need to attend to? Where is Nole? Nole, please engage this guy with something about Winston or FSU so he stays out of the adult conversation.

How many of the "Kelly can do no wrong crowd" knew much about him before his name started being reported in the last coaching search.

For the record I don't want him fired or to leave. I think he is a good coach but he has flaws. He doesn't seem very good at self scouting/critiquing or able to get another coach on staff who he will take it from.

I just do not think ND nation will ever love BK as a head coach. The great ND coaches were loved . Ara and Lou were legends . Devine was not loved and he won it in 1977. BK just does not have that charisma or something . He never seems natural. I like him as a HC but I do not think he has put together a great recruiting staff from day 1. Right now he has to turn that corner and WIN a big bowl game . That means 12-1 . Even if they do not make the playoffs . That has to be this teams goal. That would bolster recruiting and momentum for 2016. CJ needs to come back and maybe he can convince Fuller to stay and graduate. Those 2 players are his biggest offseason recruits.

The only thing I would like to see, is the DL recruiting get better. I really think if CBK can get this part of the D fixed ND will be a great team. ND can't get a pass rush worth a damn on a consistent basis. LETS GO IRISH BEAT THE TROJANS.

5-1 is a solid record so far and ND is in the mix for a final four playoff spot if they win out.

ND Houston -- it might be an academic issue not a recruiting issue . Like you I want the pass rush to be a difference maker . I have no inside information regarding these kids transcripts , no one on this board does but it strikes me as strange that we have had success in almost all areas of recruiting except for getting a big time pass rusher . While I type this I do have tp recognize that this staff has recruited Aaron Lynch, Sheldon Day , Issac Rochell , Jarron Jones , S Tuitt , Jerry Tillery . What I hope happens is that we get a couple more kids of that level to keep the momentum going as we strive to be a national championship football team.

Have you been to ND practices ? If so how many ? Have you sat in on coaches meetings ?

Kelly stated this spring that the strategies moving forward are by committee and all hands on deck - may the best ideas win ---

He is the only person I know who attends practices and coaches meetings, so I take him on his word that decisions and direction regarding the team are a group consensus as much as can be expected , I feel confident that if Denrock or Sanford have a great idea Kelly will implement it . I seriously doubt Sanford , Denson , Denrock , Heistand are here to kiss Brian Kelly's ass .

Let him babble. No one takes him seriously. When he makes INSANE comments like Kelly is a top 3 coach it just verifies the craziness. Good coach by most standards but since being at ND not consistent enough or winning enough to be listed in the "great" category. Top 12-15 percent which is very good.

Ignore his lunacy. He'll be along momentarily to grace us with some made up story or another pathological lie. Psychopaths don't change their stripes.

IMO, no point in talking about firing Kelly until we see how this season plays out. IMO, if he wins 8 games this season I think it's time for a change. Kelly has elevated the program but if we have another 8 win season I think it's clear he can't get it to the next level.

Lets just wait to see how this season goes.

at least you answered the question. winning isn't enough for you.
