Interesting that ND is:
+170 for the 5 seed
-135 for 6 seed
+230 for the 7 seed.
That plus 170 requires three things. A Texas win, an Oregon win, and PSU dropping with the loss. So I think it is fair to say, to get that prized 5, it would be nice if Penn State lost soundly.

Other games of interest. UNLV victory sees them get the 12.
Army win would be nice.
Miami Oh win would be nice.
Clemson win might send them to the 12 (if Boise wins) and SMU or Indiana to the 11.

The 15 day has South Bend as 35 and windy on Friday night.

I love this format.

The 6 could potentially be better than the 5 seed matchup wise

The 6 could be a path of Clemson-Boise-UGA with a backup or texas.
Agree 6 would be good too.

Updated ND odds as of 8:00 AM Sunday

5 seed +1200 (Texas -1600)
6 seed -115 (Penn State +100)
7 seed +110 (PSU -150) Buckeyes at +2200 here is interesting since there is a case they are more deserving than PSU.

Clemson is the 12, and SMU is -330 to get in (Bama +240) at likely 11, Hoosiers likely 10

So Hoosiers (45%), Ponies (35%) and Tide (15%) are most likely opponents (others 5%).

Prediction:

Tennessee (9) at OSU (8) to play Ducks (1) (committee proves "unafraid to replay conference games")
Clemson (12) at Texas (5) to play ASU(4) (this should be Boise but I don't think Committee has the guts)
SMU (11) at PSU (6) to play Boise (3) That 6 spot is more than Franklin deserves but I think its the matchup Committee wants
Indiana (10) at ND (7) to play Georgia. Not ideal with Georgia off of a bye somewhere at 68 degrees but Georgia not its usual self and Beck hurt.

Texas has played all year in the SEC and managed to avoid games with virtually every ranked team in the SEC, expect Georgia (Who beat Texas in Austin, and then beat them again on a neutral field with a back up QB) Their best win for Texas was at Texas A&M by 10, last I checked ND did the same thing, but in the heat in the opener.

Not sure how the scheduling Gods had Texas avoid playing Alabama, Tennessee, LSU, Ole Miss, Missouri and South Carolina this year? But, somebody needs to factor that into the seeding process, Or at least someone should factor that into the seeding process. Texas as of now does not have 1 win over any Top 25 opponent.
