Do Not hire Schiano Thread!

It absolutely would be an upgrade. Not the big name splash, but a defensive minded football coach with HC experience on both the Div 1 and NFL level. With great recruiting ties to Florida and the east coast. Would definitely be an upgrade.

No, No, please NO! Wrong type of guy. Wrong time in the ND program's life. This is absolutely wrong direction. You need young, bold, energy and boundless enthusiasm. Not someone making one last gasp at resurrecting his career. If Kelly was successful and chose to leave, maybe, not with a program in disarray and deeply demoralized. Enough of Jersey.

I'd take Schiano, Dantonio, or Miles over the hack we have now. Tired of these "offensive genius" coaches.

Leaving the stupid Jersey comment aside, Schiano would be a good fit at ND. We're not going to consistently win in South Bend until we return to more of a power brand of football, play defense, and run the damn ball. Schiano is a defense first coach, who can excel at recruiting and has HC experience on both the college and pro level. He might not be the big splash some want, but he'd be a damn good hire.

Meyers puppet. Are we ND or have we sunken to third place of the west? We need a fiery coach that will take this program to social media and beyond. Row the Boat!

I think Schiano would be more of a lateral move. He'd be a good hire if Kelly was retiring and coming off a national championship win, but that's not the case. These are desperate times and ND needs to make a high risk, high reward move.

With high risk moves comes -- you know -- high risk.

Schiano saw Sandusky with a kid in the shower and did nothing. He is a dirt bag.
