Deuce Knight De-Commit

Meh… he never would have been at ND 3 years from now anyway.
Even if you're right, Auburn gets first dibs to see if this kid can mature into a star QB in this league.

DK would have been the highest QB prospect ND signed since maybe Gunner Kiel about 12-13 cycles ago?

Finally. Hope we can get a serviceable low 4 star/high 3 star QB to be third or even second string next season.

Also DK was our best recruit this cycle and only 5-star prospect in the entire class. This is going to hit the overall class score in the nuts pretty hard. ND is going to be looking at a class that takes a step back from last years and early rumors are that the 2026 class isn't shaping up to be all that great either.

Dante Moore was the 5 star we lost. In his second school. Still doesn’t play.
He's the #2 QB on the #1 offense in the country. He's 1 snap away from potentially being a star.

People act like highly rated transfer QBs dont ever waiver on their initial commitment, choose another school, transfer out, and then turn into impact players at some 2nd school down the road.

What do you mean number 1 offense in the country?

They are 32nd in ppg and 34th in Total Offense

What do you mean number 1 offense in the country? Not even close

Get this mental midget out of here…

Deuce is a great talent but he’s got a questionable head on his shoulders

His evaluations have improved over the course of the cycle. I never disliked DK, I just thought at the time he was being a little overhyped by ND homers (because they say every guy is underrated by the services) but it turned out that Golson5 was out in front on him (even a broken clock is right twice a day) and DKs prospect profile grew quite a bit from a composite Top 100 guy, to a composite 5 star top 30 guy.

Correction LSU is #1 in OF+, Oregon is #2.

This stat adjusts for opponent quality and for luck. And this early in the year, because the sample size in 2024 is still very small (through 5 weeks), F+ is still including some of the data from the pre-season SP+ projections, and Oregon was projected to have the #1 offense in the country coming into the year.

If a “committed “ player is still taking visits to other, the player is NOT TRULY COMMITTED!!!! Also, last football season, he went out of state to play at another school. He didn’t make it through the season before running back home. He has some serious character flaws!!!

Get outta here with that Bull shit 🤣🤣

They scored 24 on Idaho. They aren't close to being the top offense

Just stupid to even discuss

My evaluations improved many times over the cycles. I told you about Minchey and Young and many many others. Watch the film. It was easy to see

🤣🤣🤣🤣 wow you just needed the recruiting sites to tell you what to believe. Unreal

I doubted he would come to ND last year. He struggled going from Miss to Tennessee. No way he was going to make it all the way to SB. Maybe Auburn’s collective backed up the Brinks truck, maybe he wants to play as a freshman. Any idea of what names ND might try to flip.

What offense is that as it sure ain't Oregon ? Moore unlikely to ever be an impact player in college football.

Agreed, glad he decommitted now and not on signing day. Let’s see how his career pans out. Has Dante Moore done anything yet?

I could get killed for this, but I think that Carr will end up better than Deuce anyways.

Who's the last athlete-first, left handed QB that's had success here?

Elite athlete w unlimited potential. "The most polarizing prospect in the class". When has "that" QB worked at ND.

Crazy not to be high on Carr with everything we’ve read and seen. Enrolling in Dec so he could practice for the Bowl game. Stellar performance in our glorified scrimmage. Quotes from Leonard about Carr’s commitment to excel. Never ever wavered from his commitment. Etc…etc…. Deuce on the other hand left his team for another team, got homesick and returned after something like three games. Told Auburn he was flipping while telling ND he was solid. Hell, he was in contact with ND yesterday about plans to visit for Stanford game. Carr has already won the head to head comparison in my book.

I think that's the safe bet actually. Yes deuce is exponentially more talented but there's so much development needed at the QB position.

If you are 17/18 and completely focused on the easiest path and the path that gets you the most money the fastest, that's ok, but it's not a plan to get you the most money overall and developed.

I fully expect Deuce to be a bust because odds show the path he's taking leads to quick money, little development.

Only thing about this particular saga is I wish Freeman had the balls to kick Deuce to the curb the minute it was known he was taking visits to other schools. Canning the ass of a big name player sends a message to current players and potential recruits. The program needs to have a more no-nonsense mindset. Being a players coach is fine and all, but you have to maintain a certain level of respect from your players. I think this is why ND loses to MAC teams under Freeman.
