Colin Cowherd: Wisconsin is a better football program than ND

1
Actually, Notre Dame did that two years in a row, since you beat Stanford in 2012 (the "goal line stand game") in a year we went on to win the Rose Bowl.

Edit: Well, maybe you beat us. Taylor was probably in for a TD, not on 4th down but on 3rd down, which unfortunately was not reviewed. :(

Come to think of it, he was probably in on 4th down as well. At least Mike Pereira thought so.

"We have looked at ND/STA last play from every angle & feel that it is a TD. Progress was not ruled & runner was not down. Ball broke plane."

I think ND won that game legitimately, and at least in that game there was no instance where two players on the field were wearing the same number.;)

You weren't "trying to compare along those lines"? Yeah, I know, you weren't comparing anything. You were just trying to delegitimize ND's win over Stanford in '12. Then, you decided to gloat about the '15 game. You're making it tough to root for Stanford. And just ftr, I root for them virtually every time they take the field.

I think my comments have been pretty mild. Anyway, you seem to be spoiling for a fight. Not interested. Sorry.

I stand steadfast in my support when I scoreboard watch Stanford, Navy, Army, BC, AF, Northwestern and the Andrean 59ers.

I like the ND v Stan rivalry.....Be good to get a conference called "Student Athlete Conference".....ND, Stan, Northwestern, Duke, Navy, Wake, G-Tech, Vanderbuilt, Rice, Cal....

i would hate playing a schedule like that every year.

That was a thought Father Ted voiced a few times. But he was smart enough to let athletic people make those decisions.

Ya gotta wonder if a few ND Presidents would take an Ivey League invite if it was proffered, meaning no more power football.

Back on topic ND football seems to have a glass ceiling at the 2nd level, being the peer of teams like Sparty, LSJU, and LSU. I just don't see BK breaking into the level of Bama and Ohio.

You rag on ND's '12 win against Stanford and then gloat about the '15 Stanford win and I'm "spoiling for a fight" by saying that I root for Stanford in virtually every game they play except when they play ND? Whatever, not interested either. Next time though, when you're being "mild", maybe you shouldn't rag on a win on that team's message board. Who knows, that may make people think that you're "spoiling for a fight".

I agree. The days of ND playing with the big boys are over.

Could care less what a referee analyst says (talk about overdoing the telecast), ND was handed nothing. He was stopped and it was obvious that ND had stopped playing because of a blown whistle or a player had seen an obvious stop (probabaly both). As for 2015, it was a great game & would've been nice had the Stanford kicker gagged. ND could've played for their 12th national title. Just think, Stanford would have to win 9 more titles to be in position to do that.
he got in. I watched it like ten times.

No, I think it is just you who feels that way, because none of the other posters seem to have had a problem with anything I said. Which makes sense, because while I may have disagreed with the call in that particular game, I'm always respectful of Notre Dame in my posts.

Feel free to have the last word on this.

But the big 10 gets worked by the southern schools almost every bowl season. The big 10 has had only one bowl season above .500 winning % since 2003 and that was because of OSU's run in 2014.

You're right that the big 10 is getting better but the best sun belt
players, for the most part, will always go to USC, Texas, FSU, Bama, etc.

We rarely see a big 10 team blow out a big time good weather school. But we see big 10 teams constantly getting clowned by PAC, SEC, or ACC schools.

Just look at some recent bowl games in which Stanford wiped Iowa, Tennessee punked Northwestern, Bama embarrassed MSU twice, and Florida over Iowa. Even in a tough battle FSU prevailed over Michigan.

Sure, that's because the B1G has an assinine schedule. If the B1G had the weak as fvck bowl tie ins as the pother conferences not the SEC, it would be completely different.

The third place PAC12 team is literally where the 6th or 7th place B1G team goes. Fvck, the B1G had two teams with 6 wins play 8 or 9 win teams last year and 4 teams in the NY6.

Now, true, the SEC has been better than the B1G (and everyone else) for that matter and we have several tie ins that we play them down south. And the year Stanford clowned Iowa, for example in the Rose, Stanford was the best PAC12 team and Iowa was the 4th best B1G team.

I have a hard time believing that I'm the only one here that had a problem w/ you saying "well, maybe ND beat Stanford". But if I'm alone, that's fine. I just find it funny that you say that on an ND board, yet I'm looking for a fight. Good luck to Stanford this year, except for when they play ND.

There is some stretching because you garner a lot of NY6 invites but you aren't winning those games on top either. In the middle of the pack we have the three Jan 1st sleep through bowls where the SEC wins 2 out of 3.

I'm not saying the big ten is some great conference. It's pretty strong right now. It wasn't for a while.

Stretching plus every bowl game is played in the south...imagine sec teams playing in outdoor northern venues in December/January...

Anyone who thinks Wisconsin is a better football than Notre Dame is an idiot plain and simple

"Regardless of what you think you can see, the home team gets those calls in the 4th qtr."

Oh, I know they do. Refs are only human. And it evens out, eventually.
2012 the ball bounced in ND's favor quit a few times
