Coach Gilmore

they were a quality team for sure. just because you don't think so doesn't make it so. being ranked going into a bowl game is pretty good to me.

Yeah, they were top 25 at # 22. I think you're at the lower end of the quality scale. Hopefully, decker will come in to explain how the final rankings are all that matter. It's always good for some chuckles...

whats your point ? kelly has always had balance in his offenses. that said he is not gonna have the stacked I or two tights and a fullback as the foundation of his offense. i'm sorry if you can't comprehend the differences in offensive philosophies. balance is the key.

Did you notice the overall "physicality" theme? Did you notice the remarks on 200 yds on the ground avg....

"kelly has always had balance in his offenses."

ND Rushing offense.....

2010 126 #92
2011 160 #55
2012 189 #38
2013 150 # 81
2014 159 # 70
2015 207 #27

you didn't direct any question to me . try again.

Well, you avoided the question I posted and rather than answer it you chose to chime in with,
"ah, more low hanging fruit. your knowledge of football can be be etched on a pin head."

I don't wonder, "why?"

cgvr. We got it you don't like Kelly. Now can you please either start a threat so people who are Interested in that discussion can discuss it with you or keep it to yourself. Every single thread is not an opportunity for your indictment of Coach Kelly. This thread is about coach Gilmore.

thank you.

wow did that go over your head. the balance numbers come from plays from scrimmage. runs vs. passes. i said kelly always seeks balance in his offense. you just don't understand or are unwilling to try. i could care less about the national statistics.

You should probably re-read the thread.

I accurately wrote:
"Yeah, they were top 25 at # 22. I think you're at the lower end of the quality scale." They ended up not ranked.

Here's how you degraded the accomplishment:
"if you don't make the 4 team playoff the others don't matter. football NIT."

Now you want to pump sunshine about it....pretty funny...

Yeah I get it, a season where we gained over 200 yds per game rushing balances with one where we averaged 126... makes sense...

I would if I didn't have to weed through a silly irish fan who cannot figure out that his hatred for the current coach has nothing to do with the topic of said thread, and that still feels the need to take over said thread with out of context statistics and viewpoint not shared by the forum as a whole.

You sir are the definition of a troll.

Internet Troll - a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people, by posting inflammatory,[1] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[2] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion,[3] often for their own amusement.

trolls tend to have dark personality traits and show signs of sadism, antisocial behavior, psychopathy, and machiavellianism.[45][46] The 2013 study suggested that there are a number of similarities between anti-social and flame trolling activities[45] and the 2014 study suggested that the noxious personality characteristics known as the "dark triad of personality" should be investigated in the analysis of trolling, and concluded that trolling appears "to be an Internet manifestation of everyday sadism..

clowns in history and modern day in his book Bad Clowns and found that bad clowns have evolved into Internet trolls.

cgvr is a bad clown and a troll.

I have question for him:

y/n only

do you realize the ramifications to 'firing' a 7th year head coach who has recruited and designed the current team?
both the immediate and next 3-5 years?

I accurately mentioned that bvg and kelly stink. You then proceeded to aimlessly pontificate as your remarks on Gilmore had apparently been exhausted. I responded to your tripe.

Not sure what the question was ....you frequently have diarrhea of the keypad. Like most on here, I don't read more than a couple of lines because you are a one trick pony.
Coach Kelly is an excellent coach and he is signed up through 2021 and that is great for ND fans.

Let me repeat my question, "Would you rather have a "pressure" or a sack?"

Yeah, we'd be competing at a higher level with dopey gone. He stinks.

Still waiting for your thread to discuss Kelly rather than taking over other threads.

I'm not!

it will just be the same beating of that dead horse!
There will be no H.C. change in the next 2 years. Sanford if he stays and gains ND type experience, continues to build relationships and resonate with recruits, will be the heir apparent when Kelly decides to move to the broadcasting booth. Why Sanford? Why in hell would he stay at ND and endure the institutional difficulties, when he could easily land a gig with Saban or Meyer, if he was not interested in a future at ND. The second coming of Meyer; this time ND gets it right!

I didn't take over a thread. You ran out of thoughts on Gilmore and decided to "wax" incoherently about dopey after I accurately mentioned that he stinks.

I really miss Wax sometimes.
Factoid: my friend Wax (real initials MK) asked me to come post on this site as it was being over run by southern cal trolls lying about the bush/mayo/southern cal investigation.....other crap. I am quite certain he would be laughing at current posters' ineptitude in refuting what I write....

My local alderman thought it was a good idea to introduce feral cats into the neighborhood to control the rat population. Now we pay an organization to manage our feral cat problem. Opinions vary as to whether the cats are any better than the rats.

The alderman's not perfect, but I still like him.

cgvr, I appreciate that you support your positions with facts. That being said, do you give Kelly credit for anything positive coming out of the Irish football program? I mean the fact you were at a pro workout with two former ND players in attendance must say something positive about Kelly. He is getting players into the pro ranks on a regular basis. I'm sure that is registering with recruits even if it doesn't register with you. C'mon man, give Kelly some credit. It wouldn't kill you. Have you ever met the man? How about some of the alums you know? What do they say about him? He can't be that bad of a guy or a coach for that matter because if he was, he would have been gone by now.

You totally took over thread with idiotic ramblings about Coach Kelly. You are the worst part of a free board and ruin any real discussion to whine about a Coach that is signed for years. You are a fake fan and troll. Accept it. Own it. Move on.

First off, this is not your thread. Secondly, reread the thread.

Here's the initial rambling on the purple one which you wrote:

"Kelly is in it for the long haul. For the first time in decades we have a hc taking an institution building approach. Davie didn't need too because ND still had some shine to recruits when he took over. By the time Ty took over ND still had some talent but had lost a lot of it's recruiting appeal. Ty coupled that with uninspired coaching and recruiting. By the time Charlie took over all shine was gone. He also had a revolving door of defensive coaching which destroyed defensive recruiting. Constant changes to scheme and coaches made ND extremely unappealing to defensive recruits. Like him or not coach Kelly has established a very sound defensive identity (since moving to the 4-3). He has coaches on the d side of the ball that recruits are listening to and that coach within bvg's system. Changing HC would have huge consequences to recruiting unless we got a huge coach... ex) urban or saban and they aren't interested. NFL coaches with no college experience ie dungy or gruden are not going to help recruiting. I like seeing ND built from the ground up and love the coaching changing Kelly has had to make. Gilmore and Sanford are studs.

Lastly, you are one boring individual.

I have often written that he has dialed up some gems. Oklahoma, fsu..... The problem has been his consistency and inability to re-establish our "physical and intellectual brutality" brand. Stanford has embraced that style. He lacks the ability to control a game. Last year showed me some great stuff. Kizer's 135 carries stand out.

At the end of the day I am hoping kelly can evolve to more simple straight up "out physical" schemes. That'll give us more consistency and allow us to go deeper into the bench. As it is, right now each opponent believes we are beatable every weekend. They are right.

PS One of the players didn't play for kelly. There are many alum that feel the way I do....

I would rather have consistent pressure.

Small man. We are so impressed that you know MK. Do you have him on speed dial? You are a beauty.

Let me repeat my question, "Would you rather have a "pressure" or a sack?"
in the perfect world the sack of course as it results in a loss of down and distance. that said it's not a perfect world and a pressure is often as effective as a sack and sometimes more. a pressure often leads to a sack by a player who benefited from said pressure. a pressure can often lead to an interception. it often leads to an incompletion. as much as you like to paint the game in black and white every knowledgable football person ( and you certainly ain't one of them ) understands how intricate the game itself is. statistics rarely tell the WHOLE story. your simpleton approach to analysis is just that.

I accurately mentioned that bvg and kelly stink. You then proceeded to aimlessly pontificate as your remarks on Gilmore had apparently been exhausted. I responded to your tripe.
it's not accurate at all. kellys record is anything but what you say it is. you give opinion and yours is far removed from the facts.

yet they all remain silent i guess and the one man band plays on albeit out of tune.
