Any idea where ND stands with ‘24 QB CJ Carr? I see that he has been on campus a few times now and seems excited about the Irish.
6’3” 180
Threw for 2700 yards & 28 TD’s last year.
Grandson of Lloyd Carr.

I think we should double down on him and Sayin. Whoever commits first wins. That’s how we should’ve played Vizzina and Moore. Go ALL in on both. Show them the same love. Whoever commits first is our guy.

That's only a viable strategy if a staff has them rated equally.

That would leave us in a position we have been in, very good but not elite. At some point you have to land an elite qb. If they think 1 is elite and 1 quite isnt, you wait on the elite

I think in the case of these two mentioned, they’re both going to be 5 star kids. Same with Carr and Sayin. While one might be better, all 4 are likely going to be better than anyone we have on the current roster.

If you’re talking Dante Moore vs Angeli, then of course you go all in for Moore.

I can see the argument both ways. It May not matter for a recruit, but some recruits could be persuaded by knowing that the school you're interested in is solely focused on you and no one else. LSU did that with Fournette. They didn't offer a single scholarship offer to any RBs for 2 years prior to Fournette joining. It's a risky strategy. It also could be that ND staff wasn't that high on Vizzinia and that led to focusing on Moore. ND could also say we'll take both Vizzina and Moore if they're willing to come. The problem is, if Vizzina committed to ND that may have scared off Moore. In other words, you're damned if you do, damned if you don't. I'm OK with the strategy ND is using to get Moore. If Moore doesn't commit to ND. There are other QBs to go after. And for all we know, there's a 3 star kid who is going to be in the NFL HOF and Moore doesn't even get drafted into the NFL.

I don’t think you’re damned if you do. You’re certainly damned if you don’t. I’d take Vizzina all day over nobody at all. If Rees strikes out in 2024, ND football will be horrible at QB. We will only have Angeli.

Better or better stats? I don’t think anyone believes TB is better than Moore. Julian Sayin is off the chain. There’s more to it than stats. TB was horrendous at the elite 11.

No he wasn't. And Buchner would have been a lock 5 star after his junior year of he played as a soph. He was injured as a sophomore so he came from really low and jumped in the rankings to the 30s. Dilfer said he had the best hs film as a junior hes seen.

If Buchner played as a sr in hs he would have easily been a 5 star

How do you explain bottom of the list at elite 11?

He didn't have a great elite 11. He was changing his delivery when he went there.

At the LA rivals series he performed very well and got the elite 11 invite there. Was better than Miller Moss from USC there

Camps don't show his biggest threat, his athleticim and running ability. That opens up big passing lanes

On the Irish podcasts I’ve heard, he never fixed that poor throwing motion. Maybe he did this spring?

You take Angeli over Moore. You can't put off recruiting a position for a guy in the next class. Unless maybe you 100% know he's going to your school.

The minute Dante Moore is out is the moment I tell both first one to commit is in.

Honestly, I'd consider doing it June first if Dante doesn't commit
