Chip Kelly Out

Strictly hypothetical. But he won't be approached this time. Eagles will look for pro coach

I think after the last few years of Mack and these with Charlie the High profile alums woukd sign a deal with the devil if it would get them the playoffs

C.Kelly will have no trouble getting a head coaching job at college or even another chance at the pros

I'm telling you Chip Kelly did everything he could to get fired so he can take the Tennessee Titians head coaching job so he could get his QB.

Yeah, the Giants will replace a two-time SB coach with a college coach that has never won a championship. Good call.

Grandeur -- no offense, but it worked pretty well for the Jags (the most successful expansion team in the history of the NFL) and then very well for my Giants last time. Coughlin never got close to a national championship and hey look, he is a two-super bowl ring wear who is a lock on the Hall of Fame.

He has the managerial skills to lead an NFL team (although, I'll admit, maybe not the defensive chops, but I could be wrong.)

Not really. Ownership wanted to retain CK but take away authority over personnel decisions, and he was not agreeable. Not sure about the Tenn conspiracy theory put forth, but I believe Kelly would still be the HC of the Eagles if he had agreed with the changes Lurie wanted to make.

Chip's highlight remains his first game's 1st half of offense vs the redskins. Sadly he lost his job not beating a Cousins led washington. IMO this year he LOST his team with the Bradford & Murray moves. Lurie messed up giving him total control.

^ maybe! but again a mistake; Chip K is not A Texas style coach. Dantonio is a better fit.
16 posts till 25,000 kudos purse 25K -- now go read something of importance and stop this running dialog on subjects that have little to no value -- intellectual curiosity is real

BS! International Bowl, Papa John's Bowl, Sun Bowl, Pinstripe Bowl, Music City Bowl....

PS he did lose the Orange, ditched the Sugar, lost the Champs, lost the BCS....

not the 1st big name college coach that has discovered that the professional HC coaching position and college HC coaching are very different professions He won't be the last.

I am not busting on BK - he could (possibly) be a fantastic NFL coach. From what I have seen in my football fanship is that the good college coaches do not translate well, for the most part, in the NFL and likewise NFL to college. Sure, there are exceptions but not too many in comparison.

I am trying to have as many posts as you and yours have ID's created in just your 6th year here!
Some kinda pathetic group there!

I am being entirely facetious. He would be shredded in the pros and wouldn't last the first day of practice without getting knocked on his rear end.

The first "motherf***king moron" that came out of his mouth would be met with him being swirlied....

This Fiesta Bowl game could be a watershed moment for him. There's a lot on the line.

I'm not in philly and I'm not plugged in there but what strikes me is that he was on the hot seat from the start of this season... After back to back 10-6 seasons. Even after 6-9 this year his hc record at philly is 26-21. Not sure what expectations are in philly but that's a high bar. I suppose after you trade for a sorry Bradford and sign Murray who wasn't a fit (and who better should have known than chip), the bar gets raised. Wonder had he not done these two moves where they'd be at record wise.

His personnel moves were head scratchers. Made you wonder what he saw that others didn't. Turned out he was flat out wrong on numerous moves. These more than his coaching, led to his demise.

Coaching to get fired in the Not For Long League is not a wise move. Kelly said yesterday that he wants to say in the NFL. After the last two years in Philly, who would give him complete control like Philly did?
Niners might. Kap fits his system and he can build from scratch.

D2 doesn't count. There's a reason this site linked ignores them....

Puff him up all you want. The Music City Bowl is his best post season accomplishment to date.

He has a chance to do something substantive tomorrow....

OSU can be had.

If we fire on all cylinders and pull out a W then it's a statement game.

If that happens it will be the biggest accomplishment on kelly's resume'....
