Anyone got a spare 2.3 million?

I will say it is a great house. The company I used to work for built the barn, and the arena.

Nine years after finishing what he considered his dream house, one that he could retire in, former Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis is moving on to a different dream.

Weis has listed his Granger-area home, located just south of the Michigan state line, at $2.35 million. The home was built in 2006, one year into Weis' five-year tenure as the head coach of Irish football. He went 41-49 at his alma mater before being fired in 2009.

The home features six bedrooms and seven bathrooms within 8,417 square feet. Listed by realtor Cressy and Everett, the home is billed as "an equestrian lovers dream house offering the most coveted and prestigious address in Granger."

The brick ranch home is situated on 10 acres and also features a baseball field, in-ground pool, eight-car garage, horse stables and a heated indoor equestrian arena.

Taxes run $23,553 per year.

Purchasing the property for the listed price of $2.35 million with $47,000 down on a 360-month loan with an annual percentage rate of 3.625 would give the home owner a monthly mortgage of $8,574.

In March, Weis sold a home in Marion County, Fla., for $1.2 million. He bought the home during his one season as offensive coordinator at the University of Florida.

Weis was fired last fall by Kansas after going 6-22 in two-plus seasons as head coach.

In February, the 59-year-old Weis told NDI's Eric Hansen that it's unlikely he ever coaches again.

CW is living proof you can be a 3-time loser (ND, UF, Kansas) and wind up being a multi-millionaire and one of the highest paid (if not the highest paid) persons in all of CFB.

Unfortunately, I seriously doubt if he lives too much longer. Makes you wonder if all this cost him his health? :(

He went 41-49 at ND? Reporter might want to edit that. I have him at 35-27 record wise while at ND. Most likely classic-echo-78 wrote that article.

Not sure why the reporter put that there. He was 41-49 overall as a Head Coach. You are correct in the 35-27 at ND.

Ha, they fixed it on the article as well.

I really really wanted CW to succeed at ND. I always felt he "got" ND and he should have after all. Is it a stretch to say no CW........no Manti?

Only a real loser would call Charlie Weis a loser. He did his best, has a wonderful wife, a nice family, has raised millions for unfortunate children and is a Notre Dame man. Some of you guys really suck!

Why I never liked him as a coach, I did hope he was successful. The company I previously worked for installed the Barn, and the Horse Arenas and maintained them for him and Hannah's House charity. He had a huge heart for helping others, and truly enjoyed seeing others do well. Rather he was a good coach comes second to the fact he was, and continues to be a good person.

If only CW was as successful as a HC as much as he was financially. Must have a better advisor/agent than he ever had as a DC. Wish him a happy retirement!

Charlie Weis is a polarizing figure and also a paradox. On the one hand, he achieved a lot in the Patriots system on the other hand his success may have been the by-product of Bill Belichik/Tom Brady lightning in a bottle - as he really did nothing of note after leaving the Patriots. Parcells has nothing nice to say about him. There are many stories of his arrogance and his alienation of former players and their families and he is less than gracious in a public setting. On the other hand, he did create a temporary spark in recruiting and has done a lot for charity. The stunt of bringing his son onto the sidelines and then making him an assistant coach at Kansas is beyond laughable. Several smart people at successful programs have hired him so he must be doing lots right. Can't figure it out - in retrospect I would not call his time at ND a disaster, but i'm glad he's no longer our coach and would have rather had George O'Leary.

Tom Brady, among others, has nothing but good things to say about CW and credits him for his development as a QB. Weis also distinguished himself off the field with the Foundation he started for children and I really think people dumping on him should look at themselves.
