tThe prelude to the pre-season to the spring game starts today.

Every one on campus and healthy starts a warm up to getting in shape for the season.

Although most of the lads have been going at it all winter---that didn't count.

Today is official.

It will also be the start of the GOLSON vs ZAIRE --the feature bout on the card.

Will VEGAS be making odds on the outcome-----based on the LSU game ZAIRE

has to be the favorite on their board. COACH SANFORD will make his first BIG

decision at ND and let the chips fall where they may.

FINALLY! Can we look forward to daily reporting from you 35? Really anxious to see how our young guys have developed.

TEL X---reports will be coming from all directions so hang onto your hat !!!

BOD puts the mortgage down on ---14-0-----anyone want to place a wager on a

different result for the 15 season??? This is your chance to beat the mighty BOD

and end up with his castle.

BOD also taking bets on ZAIRE being #! and GOLSON transfering.

BOD I hope you are 1000% correct even on SANFORD being the Second Coming.

I love the enthusiasm, and I'm hoping for a great season also. However, I think we need to be realistic also. There are some areas on the team that really, IMO, are not that stellar. For example:

OFFENSE

- The qb situation needs to be resolved; and the position upgraded. It was not a strength of the team last year.

- Rbs are ok, but not elite; no Bo Jacksons out there that I can see.

- TEs are unproven, though there is potential there

- Receivers are ok, but not elite (No Amari Coopers out there that I've seen anyway)

- OL has promise for sure - I'm optimistic about this group

DEFENSE

- DL is average at best, though Sheldon Day's return will certainly help

- LBs are ok, but except for Jalen Smith, not elite

- DBs - sort of woeful, lacking depth at corner, and really poor at safety (don't know what's wrong there, as Redfield and Shumate seem to have talent)

results for the '15 season???

an inexplicable 8-4

(L - GT, Clem, usc; L - to one of the following pitt, WF, BC or stan - like '14s losses to NW and UL)

probable end of the kelly era

ND35, I prefer to think of myself as Nostradamus not Jimmy the Greek. I am not in it for the money.

The Irish have to much talent coming back for the rest of the pack.

Let's not give up on Golson just yet, This will be his third year. The third year is the charm.

ND will be become alike of Boise State. Sanford will doing same for ND as he was coach for Boise State.

Sanford is the next Urban Meyer !

It is going to happen!

Go Irish !
I hope.

Just wondering if Kelly will let Sanford be the OC and coach and work accordingly. Or will Kelly continue to design the plays, call the plays, etc like he has done in the past?

Yes, ND's spring break begins today at the end of classes.

I"d think practice during the off week would be a good move … the guys wouldn't have to worry about studying as much and going to class.

Just checked …

Apparently spring football practice will start on March 18 after the guys return from spring break.

Golson will win the job. He realizes now that he has to earn it every day. A wake up call. I a perfect world at ND EG leads them to an undefeated season. MZ gets valuable PT during the game alla Rees in 2012. MZ has 2 years with the best OLine in the country and a deep skill group. Winbush RS this year and actually pushes Zaire for PT. I met his teammate from St. Peters Prep and said he will win the Heisman someday. A great player and he said even better person. A leader. To have these 3 QBs in the Fall wd be unreal.

Texas, G Tech, Clemson, Navy, USC, Pitt, BC, and Stanford all have an opinion about an Irish 14-0 season. They practice also. They give schollies too. Everything has to be near perfect for a double digit win season. I'm not feelin' 14-0.
