Looks like the teams that had the " bye week advantage " will be 0-3.
All 3 were underdogs and 2 of them by double digitsLooks like the teams that had the " bye week advantage " will be 0-3.
I hope that's the case after tomorrow night! 0-4 I mean.Looks like the teams that had the " bye week advantage " will be 0-3.
We're all aware of that. I was making light of all the incorrect hand wringing about how beneficial some thought a bye would be even though every team had to win at least 4 postseason games. Some 5.All 3 were underdogs and 2 of them by double digits
A bye is a huge benefit. The problem isn't the bye its just that the teams that got them sucked. We're all aware of that. I was making light of all the incorrect hand wringing about how beneficial some thought a bye would be even though every team had to win at least 4 postseason games. Some 5.
MORON ALERTA bye is a huge benefit. The problem isn't the bye its just that the teams that got them sucked.
Next year:
See this thread for what the playoff would look like this year using that criteria: https://notredame.forums.rivals.com...committee-were-competent-for-a-second.193931/
- Best 12 (even if all 12 are SEC teams)
- Top 4 highest seeded teams should get byes (no autobids -- keep conference championship achievement entirely separate of the national title bracket)
- Lean a lot more heavily on opponent quality and luck metrics when deciding top 12 (over win-loss record)
The product would be 1,0000000000000000000000000000 times better.
Define best? By F+? The best teams don’t lose to Vandy and OU, we can’t award teams playoff spots based on recruiting rankings/talent- it must be proven on the field.A bye is a huge benefit. The problem isn't the bye its just that the teams that got them sucked.

Georgia is an underdogAll 3 were underdogs and 2 of them by double digits
Playoff committee top 12 seeding.
But make sure you have a healthier mix of committee members (mathmaticians, economists, intellectuals, engineers, IT professionals, etc.) in on these discussions and voting -- not just a bunch of old industry insiders who are looking at the game in the same myopic way
Economists!Ridiculous. Why would you have people who know nothing about football selecting the teams which will be in the playoffs?
That makes sense consider The Ducks went 3 weeks off a layoff before the gameLooks like the teams that had the " bye week advantage " will be 0-3.
