Saturday September 3rd, Sunday the 4th and Monday the 5th--Labor Day
Clemson at Auburn
UCLA at Texas A&M
LSU at Wisconsin
UNC at Georgia
OU at Houston
USC at Alabama
Notre Dame at Texas (only game Sunday 9-4)
Florida State vs. Ole Miss in Orlando (only game Monday, Labor Day 9-5)
In the past (days of the BCS) if a team was going to drop a game the best time to do it was early in the season. Now it is more important than ever to try and remain undefeated as Champions from the Power 5 plus others will all be trying to squeeze into the 4 playoff spots.
According to ESPN:
"You could make the argument that, if a team is going to lose, it needs to lose early on. But there has been no indication that a one-loss ACC team would get the nod over a one-loss team from another conference based on perceived league strength.
That all could change this year, but Florida State and Clemson need to win to stay in the national conversation through the early part of the season. This is the first year the ACC has two potential playoff contenders. The last thing the league wants is for them to fall flat on their faces. Especially since the ACC has made strides toward improving its football brand over the past three years. The onus is on Florida State and Clemson to deliver, maybe more so this year than ever before."
And the same could be said for Notre Dame.
