The Irish need to take it to teams from the get go !! Don't be afraid of making a few personal fouls to set the tone !! Drive your opponent into the dirt and make sure he eats some of it !!!
I want to see the HUGE and talented Irish Oline dominate and snarl and pile drivin !~! I want to see our backs running over linebackers !! I want to see our corners and safetys drilling the wide receivers hard so they will have alligator arms the rest of the game !! Especially I want to see our Dline and linebackers swarming to the ball and gang tackle !! Again, do not be afraid of getting flagged !! Only be afraid of looking like a pussy in front of your team mates !! Do this and you will make the playoffs !! Go Irish !! Slaughter Temple !! No mercy !!

What's not to like about this. Agree on all points. I hoped for and expected our OL last year to impose its will on the defense, and I expected the team to consistently run for first downs and TDs in tough short yardage situations. We failed on all counts. Back with the same hopes and expectations, and a lot more confidence that we'll see this with Long as the OC, Wimbush at QB, and with the effects of a new S&C program, along with the chip on the shoulder the returning players have brought to Spring practice. On paper we have one of the best OLs in the country, talented running backs with complimentary speed and power, perhaps the best combination of TEs in the country, size and speed and talent in our receivers, and a gifted QB who can run and pass. Given the coaching and conditioning and attitude on top of this talent and we should be a hell of an offensive force.

Here is an interesting article about Chase Hounshell comparing the Ohio State and Notre Dame football programs---says there is a lot more individual competition at Ohio State.
A must read !!

Bodi, thanks for posting. This is consistent with the articles I've read where ND seniors are speaking out about the new and contagious atmosphere of competition and accountability. Players sure seem to be buying in, and I never imagined there could be that much difference in S&C programs.
