Dear UK Fans,

I would like to take this time to offer my sincere apology to the fans of the Kentucky Wildcats Men's basketball team. Yesterday I posted a thread on this site information that I have spent the entire day having proven to me to be untrue.

Let me start by telling you that I was with 2 very close and respected friends yesterday sharing a meal. Coach A, as I will call him, is a huge ND fan and had a child graduate from the school and play football at the school. Coach B, as I will call him, had 2 kids graduate from Ivy League schools and compete in sports. The subject came up during the meal about the things I mistakenly posted in my thread. I trusted both of these individuals and they were both adamant that what they were telling me was correct. That is not an excuse...I am the one that started the thread, not them. It is not my way to post things without researching things first, as an educated man with 2 master's degrees I should have known better.

I went to bed last nite after reading so many of the UK fans vehemently denying the things I posted. I did not sleep well. It's not my style to degrade other teams players or coaches, especially if I don't have accurate info. I got up this morning feeling even worse and thought maybe I should have researched some things before I posted. Again, talk to others on this site, it's not my style to run down other teams.

Fortunately I am extremely close to a college athletic director, we work out at his schools gym at least twice a week. This morning on our 5 mile run we discussed this matter entirely. After the run we went into his office and showed me some NCAA manuals and proved how entirely wrong I was. He even was able to show me information that none of us are privy to as well as some other things that don't relate to this topic.. You guys were accurate in your assessment about APR(I still don't understand it) and other things. For that I am deeply sorry. You guys have actually been most generous to the ND fans here and I appreciate that. If I have hurt anyone's feelings I deeply regret it and offer my sincerest apologies. You have a tremendous team and I wish you all the best of luck in tonites game.

Thank You

JacksonDomer

PS...Coachess A and B will not be getting a pass...I will be hoisting a few with them later on and I will let them know how wrong they were.

We'll it takes a "man" to admit mistakes and errors. So you sir are OK in my book haha. I just wish we didn't have to play ND tonight. Not that I'm too worried, it's just that I don't really hate ND or have anything bad to say about them. I would get more joy knocking louisville or duke out of getting in the the final 4. But with that said ND looks tough on offense so it should be a good game. Good luck and hope everyone stays safe

Jackson ... I am impressed with the character you've shown with your post here. Thank you for making your statement.

As a college sports fan, I've visited many opposing teams' sites in the past and when we do that, we must understand that we're entering 'enemy territory' and many times opposing teams' fans will not agree with us about many things. I can handle that as a fan because I understand where I am and why I'm there. I though it unfair for 'my' team to be characterized as it was. I obviously am not with the team 24/7 ... but all we've heard or seen as UK fans about this year's team is that they are all great people and great students as well as great athletes. Both on the court and off. I think that's what angered many of us UK fans ... these guys don't deserve that.

Anyway, once again, I, for one, appreciate and accept the apology. And good luck tonight. Looking forward to a great game with ND.

No big deal. Kentucky fans are used to opposing fanbases assuming a lot of things with the UK program. Takes a lot to admit you are wrong, so much appreciated. Good luck tonight.

Redemption. You would be amazed at some of the things that people believe to be fact, educated or not. Still hope we beat you. LOL

exactly.

And also, for ones that care to have a different perception of our team, get on youtube and watch the kentucky.com videos on their interviews. These are really good kids. You will not find, on any team in this country, a better sounding group of guys. They are very well spoken and act excellent on and off the court. We are not North Carolina, our players go to class and don't carry guns.. Thanks for the apology.

First off, your apology falls short because you should be apologizing to the whole board.

Second, neither of the people you are using as a "cloak" told you a story about "Darius Jackson" trudging through the snow.

Who the f is he? You made that up. So, keep up the lying.

I will tell you this, Dean Roemer of Notre Dame was a very tolerable man. He was also very very bright.

As students my friends and I pulled a lot of crap and got to know him fairly well.

In fact, I had him laughing more than once for "stuff". "I am not going to punish you for that. When you leave this office act remorseful for a couple of weeks. Keep your sense of humor...." (One "event" involved using a dorm's Fire Hose to repel another dorm's snow ball attack. It was beautiful to watch the opposing dorm's guys knocked on their ass and freezing in sub zero weather. Fire hose versus 70+ snowballing students 70 - 0. It was a curb stomp. Those hoses shoot far and heavy).

I always told everyone "do not lie to him."

He'll sniff it out and that'll be it.

The APR stats are readily available on the NCAA site.

Thirdly, the NCAA D 1 manual 2014-2015 is available for free to download.

The rules for football is also downloadable for free among other things.

I doubt there was anything confidential shared...

Every single person on this board should download those pdf files and read them or refrain from the topic.

Your excuse is more weak sauce and you should be happy the folks from Kentucky have been more than polite.

I appreciate that you've made an effort, but c'mon blaming two other guys,,,, what bs....

very nice Jackson. well done.

Ditto, geteven. The best offense faced the best defense and it became a classic. Thanks, OP. Classy post from a classy fan base.

You should save your apology for the players. It is their reputations that you took a squat on.

It takes a large man to admit his errors. Many times in my life I have had to apologize for statements and actions said and did in a frenzy of emotion. With great respect for you we accept your apology, and wish to declare Notre Dame the best team we played all year and maybe will play. Nothing but great respect for y'alls program, coach, and kids.
