AP blows it...again

Brey is in a tough situation. High expections from a lot of fans and low support from the administration. Fortunate for him, the administration doesn't share the high expectations that some fans do. Recruits love him, and I have talked to a lot of them in AAU events. His system is attractive to them, but it is ND itself that is the issue. It's not an attractive environment for them. For this that do find it attractive, they usually are in the sights of Duke who right now is royalty in the basketball kingdom. You can look at Duke's roster now and in recent years, and see several who had it not been for Coach K, would have ended up with Brey IMO. Losing a player to the powers in basketball is not a defeat or knock on Brey. He doesn't have many elite qualifying recruits to go after to begin with.

The irony here is that Brey has kept his job because the administration has such low expectations

disagree. he's kept his job because he's done a fine job. not a great job but a very solid one.

I believe you should actually have to coach during a game to be a coach and find it unthinkable that others would consider otherwise

you continue to spew the same nonsense year after year. the man does coach and pretty well. to say otherwise in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary is dead horse abuse at its finest.

You should just say "I know you are but what am I" ... that would be better than trying to insinuate that Brey coaches during a game ... unless you consider someone standing there telling players to hustle ... rebound ... and play hard as "coaching" ... the guy hasn't drawn up a play in his entire 16 years

To not know that is completely ignorant

"A lot of times during a time out ... I say nothing at all" - M Brey

So your stance is a bunch of kids just got together and happen to win the ACC last year?

Or is it that a bunch of highschooler's just having to talk to each other and repeatedly take down both Duke and North Carolina?

Damn, someone else should probably start recruiting these uncoached high school players we get, they must be the most fvcking unbelievable players history of basketball…
