Another Boring SEC championship game

If Arizona State beats Notre Dame in Indiana in December the football program should be shut down.
That would be a tragedy.

@ASU in the Fiesta Bowl would be so much fun on NYE. Are we sure sure sure that Boise gets that #4 slot?

That would definitely be a home weather advanatage, that's for sure. It doesn't get much warmer than Phoenix. Or Tempe.

It’s too hard to tell now because it’s up in the air whether or not Texas will be in front of ND. I don’t think Texas should be in front of ND, but I’d guess that they will.
Nobody really knows how the Committee will handle that. Personally, I think they should drop behind us. They lack any ranked wins and now have 2 losses.

Come on lol
I'd be willing to revisit this in a few weeks. But I see the same thing I've been seeing for the past two decades. ND remains a notch below the top competitors. And Georgia, especially, has a great defense. All they have to do is focus on stopping our run and let Riley Leonard try to beat them with his arm.

The gap is narrower. It wasn’t just a notch before. This isn’t like ND facing peak Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, or Ohio State.

I still think Ohio State seems the most talented. Day kinda keeps them back. We will see if they come alive during playoffs.

Yeah seeing them against Georgia Tech they looked particularly dominant didn't they.......

Not to be a dick but this is the biggest "duh" ever.

All you gotta do is look at the talent rankings between ND and Georgia and Texas. They got like 10-15+ five-star players to NDs 1 five star player on the roster.

ND went the entire 2024 season without facing a single top 10 team in F+ (one of the only playoff teams to avoid a top 10 F+ team).

ND has won 10 games in a row against mostly trash. When you play against trash, it hides your team's flaws really nicely.

After 35 years of disappointment I'm definitely taking a "wait and see" approach

Wait a second here......Now all of a sudden you don't live by the F+ rankings ????

This can't be could it? ND is 4th and Ga is 8th...

Oh wait, doesn't fit your narrative

I got ya

I would rather be 11 and 1 than 10 and 2 personally. And the committee had us ranked higher. But that's just me personally
When you play in the SEC, shit happens. Going 11-2 in the SEC is nothing to be ashamed of.

No it's not. But the sec isn't as good as it used to be. And you are treating it like 10byears ago
What are you talking about? The SEC is lording over everybody this season. They are by far the best conference from top to bottom. They have 9 teams in the top 25 in F+.

They don't have a couple of teams that could probably compete in the NFL this season (like some SEC teams in the past) but top to bottom that conference might be more stacked than its ever been.

The 35 years is a fair point. The burden of proof is on Notre Dame. But like I said, the gap has narrowed.

I disagree ND played trash. It wasn’t the strongest schedule. But ND beat a few decent teams from different conferences.

The Irish beat USC by the highest margin of any opponent. ND has improved over a season. With the right playoff slate and continued peaking…a NC is possible.

To answer your earlier question, sure, it helps to play Boise or SMU 1st. As opposed to a path of death. That’s true in every sport.

No team will be easy. But some will be tougher than others.

Compete in the NFL?

😀

No they're simply not. No great team and a lot of losses out of conference that they don't usually have. No great OOC wins

Worst sec in at least 15 years

You think SEC teams could compete vs NFL teams?😂 Jesus you are a f'ing moron.

ND has had its best season in the F+ era this past year but they haven't been tested by any marquee teams since September. And even the marquee teams they were "tested" by were mid-teens ranked teams (TAM & Louisville)

ND is sorely out-talented by the top teams in the big10 & sec which limits their upside in games vs teams with far more talent.

Based on their production through 12 games ND probably has its best chance to win some games against the best teams in the country this year but its all theory/on paper. Its very different when you are actually lining up against rosters full of 5-star talent head to head and have to produce against them.

Which top Big teams are you referring to? They are higher than Psu and Ind. And only 11 points which is nothing to Oregon but have a higher per player average. So you're speaking about 1 team ? Which we've played even last year with a weaker team

Your arguments are getting dumber

My point indeed is that it’s close enough to truly say it will take a game to decide. What I saw doesn’t support a mismatch based on how many 5 stars.

I think the ND D will hold like they did all season. I think the OL + Love + Price can run vs anybody. RL is versatile enough as runner and short passer…suspect deeper.

No team is a gimme vs ND. I’m a hard critic, but give credit where it’s due. This doesn’t seem to be a Dave, Willingham, Weis, or BK team.

You're just trolling at this point.

The worst team in the NFL would beat the best team in College Football by three or four tds

anyone thinking otherwise cannot think at all

Not in the cold. Lols
Sorry, seen way too many times us losing games we had no business losing. And against really bad teams too. See NIU. Plus ASU is actually really good. People used to think you couldn't go into Lambeau and win in January. Wrong.

Ewers and the crap Kenny G clone kicker lost it for them.
Thought Sark made some lousy play calls after their first 1st down in overtime. Two throws in the end zone ? Get the ball to someone in space. He's got great athletes. I thought he did Georgia a favor.

No. They could never compete against an NFL team. That's just dumb.

Not the worst at all. Clearly the most competitive than it's ever been.

They are not out talented. You state that based on high school rankings that mean absolutely nothing now. Put your telescope away and try watching games with eyes wide open.

The Notre Dame D, when they played USC, didn’t look as you describe in this post.

I’d also agree, but USC had a very good quarterback and a good running game, that’s a great combination.

USC’s QB, with the exception of Oregon’s QB is probably the best QB we’d face in the playoffs

You mean the D that had 2 pick 6's to seal the game. The D that stopped USC on downs after Riley threw a int when it was a 1 score game in the 2nd half. You are such a loser. Get lost Dennis
