It doesn't matter what caused the lowest point. Nothing will ever compare to loosing Knute Rockne. The mess this year lies at the feet of Brian Kelly, but in 10 years it won't matter. I will probably be dead by then! The fact that the team never gave up will matter for years to come. We do need a new coach IMHO; but I'm not going to cry in my RC if Swarbrick can't see it. I hope he does but we'll see in the next few weeks.

I have nothing vested in BK or his staff but there has to be a solid plan to replace. It absolutely cannot be a lateral hire and having a "name" is no guarantee either. The candidate has to 100% understand what ND is all about and be willing to work within it's rules. A couplle of names sound interesting to me from a distance.

How many of his players were arrested? Expelled? Banished? How many wins did he forfeit for academic malfeasance? He may have lost more but he did not tank the programs integrity off the football field.

It means there are a couple of names out there that would be intriguing candidates at ND if and when the position opens IMHO. I'm not privy to any personal background info related to these candidates so I said I am viewing these names from a distance. I don't trust BK with next year's team but I am not willing to support a new hire that is nothing more than a lateral hire. In other words, I don't want change just for the sake of change. There has to be a real plan and thought process to it. That's the way you do it when you are not over emotional about it.
