Alums vs Fans?

The original post is interesting to me.

How many subway alums became fans at a time when ND was winning national titles and how many became fans because they appreciated what the University stood for? That distinction will probably help predict what their stance is with regard to letting the university drop it's academic standards in order to win a national championship.

many were kids and in the Early Show and Million Dollar Movie saw Knute Rockne All American and then inquired & learned more from parents about the Irish. 2nd generation sub alums were born.

Soom the idea of subway alumni will be legend, like Rockne. Nothing and no one
lasts forever.
