All those #1 ranked classes and this is what you get now?
Just goes to show those that live their lives on HS rankings are full of crap

Alabama is underperforming their talent this year for sure but that doesn't mean the ratings are crap; it just means Alabama is suddenly not maximizing the talent on their roster with the same kind of efficacy as they once were.

Saban is getting old and probably on the declining part of a coach's career arch. But even a declining Saban with his 85 man roster is a threat for a national title any given year.

It’s an off year, but they still are in the hunt. They’re a couple guys away from being a #1 caliber team again

Yet they are 6-1, and will be favored to win their remaining 5 regular season games. And if I was a betting man, which I’m not. I bet they end up the regular season 11-1 and playing Georgia in the SEC Title Game for shot at the SEC & CFP. If that’s ordinary, sign me up.
The Iron bowl could has an impact

I disagree, Bama is seeing what happens when you can’t simply plug & play 1st round QB after 1st round QB. Their run at the position was unprecedented. If you put Drake Maye, Penix, Nix, even Hartman on that team, they’re undefeated.

If you don’t have excellent QB play, you likely won’t all or most of your games.

So you are saying they have not fallen?
All that talent and they are struggling with teams like Arkansas

I would love to play them in a bowl game this year

It will be interesting to see how they play against Tennessee and LSU. LSU’s offense looks like a top 5 team this year, unfortunately their defense didn’t get the memo. If they can figure out the back end of that defense, I think Kelly might be able to sneak another one past Saban this year. This is the year to beat Bama. However, with the portal and Saban’s track record as a coach, I think they’ll be just fine next year.

I agree in that I wouldn’t mind playing them, or another SEC team, in a bowl game this year (sugar bowl? — not sure how the bowl alliances work with the playoffs). At 10-2, I definitely think we may be able to sneak into a NY6.

What is Texas A+M’s excuse?

Bama still has the talent all over the field. They aren't the 'team" they have been. But....they are winning. They can beat anybody on their schedule, including Georgia. In fact...if they make the playoffs, how would they fare against Michigan or OSU? They can beat anybody. You don't have to win by 30 or 40, you only have to win by 1.

Agreed----would love to have Turner here-------# 15 can really rush the passer.

got news for you.
When teams like Arkansas take you to the limit, the likelihood of them running the table is slim

When you supposedly have more talent than any other team and by a significant margin
(according to the talent ratings)
What is your excuse?
Sure coaching can be looked at; but just maybe that talent was not as great as thought.
AND also the mixture is critical to any championship team...

Has saban sacrificed that in the name of #1 classes?

Have you contacted Saban to let him know that he’s not maximizing his talent ?

Specifically, what positions aren’t having their talent maximized ?

What leads you to believe that Saban’s coaching abilities are declining ?
