The man has done an absolutely incredible job this season. He has not coached college football since 2015. He was a TE coach and LB coach in the NFL. He brought no coaches, blended his defensive structure to the Freeman defensive verbiage. He taught the system to new players and staff he had no familiarity with.

His defense has had some struggles with big plays, long drives, lack of turnovers and getting off the field, especially on 3rd and long. But the ND defense in the losses, gave up 20, 26. and 16 points. In modern day college football that is outstanding

He did a phenomenal job rebuilding Temple. And in retrospect, he did not do a bad job at Miami. It would suck to lose him, and I have no idea at 53 years old, if he even wants to be a Head Coach again, but it he does, he should get a shot. I think he is one heck of a coach, and was a great hire

If he wants to be a head coach he will. If he wants a run at a college national championship he'll be at ND the next few years.

Golden has "been there, done that" as head coach a couple of times. Maybe there is something to be said about "chemistry among coaches" working on building a CFC level program. There is a reason that both Golden and Freeman agreed to join up early and then waited for the NFL playoff to play out before making it official. Seems to me that there is good reason that Golden will stay a couple of years.

$$$$$$$
He needs to be made the highest paid coordinator in the country. Offense or defense no matter.

"The highest paid " only lasts a few weeks anyways since teams throw money around now like kids throwing stones at a lake.

Regardless if we want to keep him open the damn checkbook.

Two of the hottest coaches for college will be Golden and Matt Rhule

Going to be hard to keep the staff together. ND has to pay. Mason and Golden both deserve a raise. If Rees leaves, they need to lure a big OC with cash too. Can't be cheap in today's game. We save a lot of $ not paying recruits. Got to pay the coaches big if you're going to be cheap with NIL.

According to a few on here that's all a drop in the bucket for ND and their billions...

While ND has lots of $$$ they overlook the little caveat that they don't like spending it.

BIG, like Charlie Weis BIG

Weren’t some on this site demanding that he be fired after the Marshall and Stanford games ?

Dont you think you should wait until the end of the season before making any decisions ?

Not Golden. Yes to Rhule

Agreed------believe Al G could get a Power 5 job with 2-3 good years at Notre Dame.

But the reality is he failed in his last attempt . IMO he was just a bad fit for Miami but I don't blame him for taking it.

On top of that OC's are all the rage currently. AD's want to sell high scoring , wide open football.

I could see Al at a place like BC , UVA , Rutgers or Duke if any of those jobs came open.

I said nothing of firing Freeman...
Not
Ever
Once

Nothing whatsoever.

It's all on the message board.

Seems you enjoy babbling about shit whether accurate or not. Kind of like your football knowledge.
