IMO this is a bit of an outdated misconception. I am not a season ticket holder but go to a game or two every year. In past years I think there was probably some truth to this, but lately it has been my experience that when the opponent is good, or it is a close game, I have found the crowds get into it. As has been pointed out here many times before, the open bowl architecture of ND Stadium simply does not retain the noise, and it matters whether it is a day or night game. And we also have a much smaller student body. I don't think our crowds are any less enthusiastic than those you will find at other open bowl stadiums, such as UM.

And while I love AT, I am not sure how many games he actually attends every year.

Respectfully disagree. I've attended a lot of games at ND and in other stadiums. It's just not even comparable to some places I've been. There's a lot of reasons for this but it is what it is

Totally agree...when there is a good opponent the place is electric. Night games are much louder as well!

I’m there every game. It’s been very loud for the big games. The myth here is that some posters think that the “loudness” they see at the other stadium games sustains for each of that teams’ games. False

Places like Bama and Pedo and Ole Miss have all recently had discussions about same.

The 2005 USC game set a high bar, one that should be replicated next Friday night !

Yes. The last 3 years with MF as an example…The OSU, USC, Clemson, Ville games…were plenty loud

I think we may see a lot of red in the stands on Friday. Hopefully not Nebraska level. But the stars are aligned for an IU invasion.

I’m betting 10-12k. Of course red shows more

Two of ND ticket office employees are IU grads

Lol

I wouldn't be surprised, but I would still be upset to see that much, or even more. ND has a history of selling their tickets to opposing fan bases over the years, and against someone so close geographically, I can see a red invasion Friday night. Either way, can't come fast enough. I'm pumped!
