Interesting MF focus in the portal has been WR/DT, two positions that have been poorly recruited. Thought all was good at DT? 😂

We lost 3 guys from the roster. The position we are losing the most from the roster.

We are only losing 1 lb 1 safety and 0 rbs etc so why would we go to the portal for those positions

We may lose 5 wrs and 3 dts so that is the obvious positions they are using the portal for.

Weird bad point 🤣🤣

Do you think we recruit the secondary poorly as well?

Because the last 2 years we have taken 4 players in the secondary compared to the last 2 years us taking 3 DL

🤣🤣 I guess we recruit the secondary, DL and wr poorly

I have no idea how we won 14 games with all these poorly recruited positions

🤣

replace NDs low 4 star-laden secondary with the type of 5 star and high 4 star studs OSU has successfully secured on their roster at DB and NDs secondary now has way more upside to perform at an even higher level under these same coaches/scheme/player development

The osu secondary was getting smoked by lesser players at wr them we went up against. They got beat and had multiple penalties. Bad point

OSU started getting beat when they went to a prevent defense sacrificing yards for clock. Its not a matter of getting beat a few times anyway its being able to play up to any level of competition no matter how big the stars are on the opposing team.

Not according to F+. They think we were a top 4 team and they factor everything in
Yes, best season on record in F+ in last 15 years. ND will probably get their first top 5 F+ finish since the stats existence but that says more about the lack of upside on the ND program dating back last 15 years than anything about NDs level of play really.

#5 F+ finish while being over a half-point in F+ away from the team at the top of the system who is gatekeeping the national title trophy is not good enough.

And they didn't play well in this game. They were getting cooked and holding to a group of wrs that were not nearly as highly rated. Their corners aren't that good. Burke played well but Igbinoson and Hancock were getting beat consistently. Even early in the game we missed on a pass and a couple reads where guys were open and a couple pressures when we could have had a open guy. Morrison would have been the best corner on the field tonight and he was a mid 4 star. And Moore was better than Great and he was a lower rated recruit.

No. It just says this team was top 5. What happened previously or what it says about the past and the previous coach is irrelevant to the top 5 team F+ says this was

Either you believe in your rankings system or not. Can't have it both ways

Injuries sucked. I truly believe the game would have gone differently if we had Traore, Morrison and Mills.
You are talking about NDs injuries in a silo (as if the other team was at 100% themselves). They too were playing their 16th game with a handful of their own starters & 2 deep guys out and/or limited

They weren't as banged up as ND but if you do the "if these guys were healthy" exercise you gotta give OSU their guys back too and then it might not have gone all that much differently

What about Bowen and Ausberry?

I was so impressed w Bowen this year. He's an absolute ass kicker. Our hardest hitter.

Completely agree. Add Morison and that helps shut smith down and would have absolutely gotten more pressure with their best 3 pass rushers not in street clothes

You have overstayed your welcome. We dont like you, we dont respect you, we know you are not a ND fan. You are loser that trolls a fan message board.
You’re a pussy!! Keep posting Chase, agree or disagree with your thoughts it adds a different point of view which I think many welcome. The whining , insufferable, kool-aid drinking crybabies on this board is disgraceful. Grown men who lack the intestinal fortitude to hear an alternative narrative about something as meaningless as a college football team. It’s not life or death and a variety of opinions should be welcome.

Think the staff will do what's right and start kva over bowen? Bowen had a very very rough go of it vs penn state and osu.

Curious if sneed makes the leap and is an every game starter 40+ snaps a game.

Gray is by far the weakness of the team. Please benmo please. If gray starts, you know where Miami will be throwing it all night game 1. There's a reason why.

Another chaseball alias.

Doesn't really matter who starts. All will play. All are good.

Gray will start. Really good year. Good player

Don't be surprised if it's Angeli and not Carr. Also, I still think ND needs and will get a more dynamic WR. I wouldn't just pencil those three in.

The lack of DL production leads to putting the secondary in a bad spot. People think interceptions are always great secondary play when most of the time it’s the DL getting pressure causing a poor throw.

Will Johnson is a stud but a lot of his stats come from great pressure from his 2 first round DT’s Graham and Grant.

Gotta think Urlacher will factor in too. Loaded with skills.

That's the o line I hope we see. I think Jagusah can be a very competent left tackle at this level. I also think he can be an All American guard.

My 2nd guess would be Jagusah at LT and Knapp at guard. That actually may be more likely

OSU defensive backfield was a liability

They held tons, gave up 2 TDs, and had all fo their penalties

I think (if everyone healthy and no transfers) knapp could be odd man left out. I just see no point in having him at tackle when we have lambert, black, wagner, and jagusah if needed. All 4 much better tackle prospects. Now, he has more experience than lambert, black, and jagusah.

My hope is it's similar to what you stated but here would be my real 2 deep

LT - Lambert - Black backup
LG - Billy - Absher/Knapp backup
C - Craig - Knapp Backup
RG - Jagusah - Absher/Knapp Backup
RT - Wagner - Black backup

Not sure what the coaches saw that led them to think Pendleton should start, but maybe he makes enough strides to crack a real 2 deep. What i mean by that is he actually goes in if someone goes down.

Knapp would be the ideal 6th man. The folks I talk to regularly say they are also very high on Jones for the interior somewhere. Loaded room.

I'm far from the best oline expert but I was high on him as well coming out.

I was higher on him than Absher. I just haven't heard much on jones since he's been at ND. Big, strong, pretty athletic for size. I'd assume he's battling with absher for 2nd team reps or game time.
