Reilly Leonard throws for one score and runs for another. Love tact’s on a TD. Special teams is again special, they get in on the action with a punt return for a TD. Jeter come through late to make it a two score game. The secondary ends it.

I bought a bottle of Irish whisky today, normally I’m a bourbon man, but I’ll be making some Irish old fashioned’s tommrow night.

And god-bless anyone who has to be in early to work Tuesday.

In Atlanta…unopened bottle of Redbreast 12 waiting to be opened late tomorrow night!

Literally never heard of Redbreast 12. I will google it. If Notre Dame wins, Coors Banquet, alongside a good steak, next Saturday night.

I don't know if this is group-think or just the confidence of rabid fans, but I think there is a better chance of OSU winning easily, say something like 31-10, than there is of OSU winning a close one, something like 20-17. I think there is very little chance that ND pulls off the upset, and if we do, it will be by the skin of our teeth.

I just think the injuries are too much to overcome against a team that is as stacked — and as seemingly focused — as OSU is.

That said, I have to add my regular disclaimer in that I hope I'm dead wrong and we come out and whip them on both sides of the ball, but I think that is beyond wishful thinking.

27-17 ND and I have some ND Branded Guinness cooling in the fridge for the game and a few varieties of Irish Whisky for the post game celebration.

I have a unopened bottle of 12 year Jameson whiskey that i've been saving for tonight. Depending on how the night goes will determine how much of this bottle survives for another day. lol.

My mind says OSU 27 ND 17, but my gut says ND 20 OSU 17 in a wild game.

There is a reason Ohio State is favored by 8 or so. They are an excellent well coached team with playmakers everywhere. With that said , Notre Dame is also well coached and has a great team as well. I think ND can win though it will be tough. There is definitely something different about this team than prior teams in recent years. One thing that stands out is I do not get the sense the ND players feel like they can’t win. They aren’t intimidated and there is a confidence in this group I haven’t seen since Lou Holtz coached. Even if my logical reasoning says Ohio State will win, I cannot pick against ND in this game.

“ What tho thee odds “.

ND 24
OSU 23

For those who remember ND/Alabama 1973 , that’s why I picked that score. Go Irish !

Upsets happen, Frazier over Ali, Ohio State over Miami, Douglass over Tyson, the barbarians over the Romen’s at Teutorberg Forest. The Irish over the Buckeyes!

Frazier over Ali wasn't an upset, especially considering the three year layoff by Ali refusing the Vietnam War.

A challenge for certain. If both teams play their best game OSU wins but games like these are rarely error free. ND is not on some Cinderella run. They are as good as anyone when they play physical, smart football. Turnovers as always will be key along with winning 3rd down. The fan in me says ND wins close. The life long football guy in me says OSU wins a battle. Just too many weapons.

Echo agreed. But I think first down is the key for the Irish offense. Getting 4 plus on first down will be the key to success. 2nd or 3rd and 7/8 or longer is going to be an issue

ESPN was saying their metrics had the game much closer. OSU by 2 or 3 points. I work tomorrow so Gatorade and mexican food.

I dont know what the final score will be but i feel like OSU wins this by at least the 8 points they are favored by. Worried most about OSUs very elite defense and NDs inconsistent offensive performance and NDs lack of offense in these games vs elite opponents at the top of college football in the past.

I got plenty of booze & indica around to celebrate or drown my sorrows too lol

Feel incredibly calm which isn't me before big games. This Irish team is solid and has a sound mindset. I would be shocked and disappointed if they got blown out. I expect them to take care of business and return the natty to the Bend.

Now, during the game, I will fume and pace the hallway, switching between the muted TV and game tracker. 😁

The drink of choice will be tap water spiked with coconut pineapple flavoring.

I have been a drinker my whole life, but many years ago I stopped drinking before or during ND games. I want a clear mind (at least by my standard) to enjoy the game.

Now, after the game...

If ND can get 160+ yards rushing then Irish win. If RIley has to throw 35 times then bucknuts win.
But as normal I an very good at predictions so.....

That should say I am not very good at making predictions...I need new glasses and water drink of choice tonight.

The US Hockey team over the Soviet Union in 1980 was the biggest upset in sports history. It can happen!
38-21 Irish and Brita water. Had to give up alcohol to prolong my life back in 2000. So far it's worked.

Um, this would not be an upset along those lines. This tOSU is not anywhere near that good. It's a very even matchup, if it weren't for ND's injury situation being like it is, I'd consider this game a toss-up, with ND very arguably being the favorite. Outside of the injuries, principally on the DL for ND, which is tough, I strain to see why or how it is that tOSU is even better than us. As has been mentioned, we practically had them beat just one year ago. And I consider ND the team that has improved more so since that time rather than tOSU.

So there you go. With kick off an hour away....
