kelly and bvg deserve criticism. What remarks have you in a snit?
PS kelly has done the near impossible when one considers recruiting rankings.

Doesn't change the fact he is a famous, millionaire coach of ND & you are spending your life posting about him.

I am quite certain it happened to you often. We already determined that on average you post here more often than I do. In addition, you have multiple handles....
I don't have multiple handles. I have one. The same one I was a mod under on a different forum going back to 2006.
Second, I post NOW (the last 8 weeks) because I have a newborn & I post while she naps on me.
Third, I did get yelled at a lot in the military. I spent 28 months going through training from '97 to '99 in a program that is nothing but pain & getting yelled at. Then spent six years '99-'05 in a POC.
Fourth, I have nothing to hide, so fire away. I'm a "public figure" since all you have to do is look me up at IBG (where I am a co-founder & former competitor) here in Indy or the fact I was paid by tax payers' dollars as an epidemiology director for the State of Indiana & an adjunct professor at IUSM/DPH.
All my records are public.
So instead of making stuff up about me, just ask me? Easy.
I alway felt that anyone that can show kindness and love to a child cannot be a bad person; and also the contrary.

TCU , Baylor , Stanford always seem to be ranked in the top 15 even though their recruiting classes year to year are not ranked high. The Irish have good recruiting classes and can be in the conversation as a top 10 class ,but in the end ,fall short in a national title . We just don't get enough 5 -star players on defense to put us over the top like Ohio State ,Clemson, Alabama, Florida State , and expect a resurgence of USC,Michigan ,Georgia ,.. Lately ,Oklahoma falls short in their bid for a title . Look at Iowa and Michigan State this past year . They would only go so far , like Notre Dame . The top teams like Alabama and Ohio State are always there with their yearly top 5 recruiting .
thats small potatoes compared to what joe moore used to say. you have obviously never participated in team sports at any level. i'm sure your hero jim harbaugh only covers his players in skittles and unicorns. kelly is a fine coach. top 15.

The highest ranking in scoring average that lumpy has achieved at ND is #34......
He is no where near elite......

Getting some balls back I see. Good to see. Offensively, ND has always been decent under Puglsy, the problem is defense which you have consistently harped on. If we can be ranked 30-40th in defense and Kelly stops calling stupid Offensive plays, we have a chance to compete with the best.
Very true Stewie. Getting back to my original post it looks like the 4 stars are rolling in. Especially on the D line. No more 3 stars necessary and we should focus on grabbing at least two 5 stars before the end of October. This is the year- where we win on the field and in recruiting. ND is #1 in 2016.
Only a couple of key recruits, and everything changes. But that has been the story for the past 3 cycles.
The staff must be frustrated, they do all they can to get the top prospects aboard. They just don't have the 'war chest' that their competitors have.
It will only hurt the recruiting rankings. This will in no way 'really hurt' the ND offensive line, they are in great shape with a bevy of talent and a great coach.
Smith Wills and Sarell were 1-3 targets for ND OL recruiting. Need at least 1 of them.
Seems Bama is the Yankees before the draft; they can get or buy anyone they want.

Alabama is right up there with Kentucky for Willis.Who wouldn't want to play for Alabama who is always in the hunt for the national championship .
As far as Sarell, ,looks to be Washington,Stanford, ND and Trey Smith might cross off Alabama ( if they get Willis) . Smith has Mississippi , Texas A&M , ND on his radar . Harry Hiestand ,who has to be 1 or 2 of the best line coaches in the country , might be able to get Smith or Sarell to ND .

I think getting a one sided talent haul at Bama somewhat tempers the idea Saban is a great 'coach' .
He gets so far superior talent because he has full authority and absolutely no restraints he can recruit anyone.

couldn't you say the about urban then ? they are the top two coaches in the college game and it ain't close. winning titles at two different places is testament to that.
I've learned to ignore crystal ball predictions. They have been below 50% accurate (as pointed out to me by others). No one knows because the kid hasn't told anybody which way he is leaning.
I just listen to the kid talk, & he is a big fan of HH. In his limited interviews the one constant is him mentioning HH.
Nobody here thinks ND (or anybody for that matter) is on Bama or OSU's level whether it's recruiting or coaching. Those two teams have clearly separated themselves. ND won't see either in the regular season, all the fans can hope for is to beat the teams on the schedule and have a chance come playoff time. Upsets happen - Va Tech, Michigan State, Ole Miss, OU, A&M have all done this in recent years. Futile to discuss the success of these two programs and ND as they can't and won't match their firepower in the near future.

Right now , posts are correct OSU and Alabama are getting the top talent . But looking at ND ,we were in the championship game in 2012, In 2014 we started well early only to get that pick penalty costing us the game against Florida State and then we kind of lost games at the end of the season ,due to injuries ,but we were in the conversation. And in 2015 that loss to Clemson really hurt. Clemson scored the first 2 times they had the ball and scored only 10 points the last 3 quarters ,but then again we remained in the championship talk until the last second loss to Stanford.
With our schedule we are better than most teams we play, and even though we aren't as talented as the Alabamas ,Clemsons,etc we can still be talked about as a final 4 . It is hard to go undefeated in college football .Ohio State ,Alabama , Florida State ,Clemson are targets and can lose on any given Saturday .
Just hope Kelly can rethink some play calling . Come from behind games against Temple and Virginia .It shouldn't have been that hard. And then the BostonCollege game was a poor offensive performance .Don't completely buy the great defense of BC not with all are weapons we had.

How can anyone argue that Kelly hasn't underachieved with the recruits he's had? Maybe he finally turns it around this year. The talent has been there for top 10 teams, but games like Northwestern show he just hasn't figured it out yet.
Once again please refer to the original post. This is the year we win. The top players will flip to ND. We have big time night games and a fantastic schedule in the beginning of the year including up and coming Duke and Miami as well. Be patient. If we take care of our on field business we will land some big names. If you have been to the campus lately you will see how it is growing and the new stadium is going to be amazing. Our coaching staff is intact which will also add an advantage when other teams coaches on the hot seat start losing, Finally lets face it as players enter their senior HS year some 4 stars could be come 5 stars etc. Work hard and win and they will come.
