Basketball MBB: Defense disappears for Notre Dame MBB in home loss to Elon

Elon got comfortable in Purcell Pavilion on Friday night. That led to an upset victory over previously undefeated Notre Dame.

“On the defensive end, that’s not how we play defense,” said Irish center Kebba Njie. “That’s not what I feel like Coach Shrews (Micah Shrewsberry) built this program to be about. I think offensively, we played pretty well, but there’s a lot of our defense that didn’t show up really too much tonight.”

Special: Army-Navy 2024 premium forum

With Notre Dame playing against Army this week, I wanted to share with you a new feature that Rivals is trying out this season.

Rivals launched a brand new forum dedicated to the Army-Navy game, which will be played this year on Dec. 14. This forum is only accessible to Rivals All-Access Pass holders as well as all Army and Navy team site subscribers. If you do not have the All-Access Pass as part of your Rivals Subscription, you can add it on by accessing the Subscription section of your account:

The Rivals All-Access Pass gives subscribers the ability to read any team site message boards across the Rivals Network as well as the Rivals Ad-Lite experience. It also gives access to special events like this Army-Navy forum, and is available to both monthly and annual subscribers as an add-on to your current subscription.

Football WSBT Wrap: Notre Dame football needs to fix its kicking problem

I joined WSBT sports director Pete Byrne to share takeaways from Notre Dame football head coach Marcus Freeman's Monday press conference, if USC is better than its record suggests, injuries that will impact the Irish, the shaky play of kicker Mitch Jeter, the improvement of Notre Dame's offense, how well the Irish defense has been playing and what a win over USC would do for ND's College Football Playoff ranking.

Inside ND Sports is partnering with WSBT to provide even more coverage of the Notre Dame football season. We'll record a video every Monday following a Freeman press conference.
