Here are tonight's Lucky Charms...
*** Last Thursday, Notre Dame offered Huber Heights (Ohio) Wayne
Elijah Brown, who is listed as a tight end by Rivals but told BlueandGold.com that the Irish offered him as a defensive lineman. Notre Dame is the only school recruiting Brown on the defensive side of the ball. Brown spoke to
Mike Mickens over the phone about all things Notre Dame, and later on in the evening, Brown also spoke to Mike Elston and went through schematics and talked about Brown’s fit at Notre Dame. Brown also noted that he doesn’t have any specific positional preferences at the next level.
*** That same day, Notre Dame offered four-star offensive tackle
Aamil Wagner. Mickens spoke with both Wagner and Brown – teammates at Wayne High – before their position coaches offered. Mickens is from Huber Heights, Ohio and played his high school ball at Wayne. Mickens still has close relationships with the Wayne staff, and Wagner told us that Mickens is well-known in the community. Look for the Irish to become players in both recruitments in part because of Mickens’ connections.
*** Notre Dame also offered
Nicholas Anderson, a 6-4, 183-pound wide receiver out of Katy (Texas) High. Anderson holds seven offers as of now: Miami, Arizona State, Virginia, Houston, Kansas, Southern Miss and Notre Dame. He was offered by Notre Dame wide receivers coach
Del Alexander during a call that lasted well over an hour. Alexander spoke with Anderson and his parents about Notre Dame’s academics, culture, football, and tradition before Alexander capped the conversation by offering Anderson. Alexander spent the bye week busy offering new 2022 wide receivers. Georgia playmakers Denylon Morrissette and Kojo Antwi added offers from the Irish as well.
*** Defensive line coach
Mike Elston offered Boonville (Mo.) High defensive end
DJ Wesolak last Thursday. We mentioned last month that Notre Dame was looking at Wesolak, and we love this offer by the Irish. Wesolak a lengthy kid with a good burst. Wesolak's recruitment has blown up this month with the likes of Penn State, Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri also offering. He plans to take his time with the process and commit before the start of his senior season. We expect Notre Dame to be a top contender in his recruitment.
