2 CFP playoff teams are locked IN, only the order and other 2 TBD

Alabama and Notre Dame are IN the CFP regardless of a win/loss in the SEC and ACC title games. There is no chance that a 10-1 Alabama or 10-1 Notre Dame team will be left out of the final 4.

Ohio State beats Northwestern they are IN, they lose they are OUT.

Clemson beats Notre Dame they are IN, they lose and they need an Ohio State loss to be the first 2 loss team ever in the CFP.

Texas A&M beats Tennessee and they need an Ohio State loss AND a Clemson loss to be IN and that's not guaranteed at all.

The biggest argument that would be awesome is if Notre Dame wins another close game vs. Clemson. I could make a great argument that a 9-2 Clemson team with their only 2 losses to an excellent Notre Dame team are still much better than an 8-1 Texas A&M team.

ESPN's CFP odds for ND (62% today, 33% with loss to Clemson)

Saw this at the bottom of ticker on College GameDay. ND 62% to make playoffs as of today (Clemson is at 56%). No idea how this estimate is determined or if it can be determined with any sense of accuracy. But does this seem VERY LOW to anyone?

It implies ND has a 33% chance of making playoffs with loss to Clemson.** This cannot be right. Thoughts?

**Math for the calculation, if interested:
1. Odds of Clemson making the playoffs = 56% (according to ESPN). If you assume Clemson is in with a win and out with a loss, this is basically just saying Clemson has 56% chance to win the ACCCG.
2. Thus, ND has a 44% chance to win the ACC title - and would be in 100% of the time with a win.
3. For a weighted average of 62% today ..... 62% = (44% win ACCCG * 100% chance make CFP) + (56% loss in ACCCG * 33% chance to make CFP)

So disgusted with ND bball

I know I, as well as many others have talked about this at nauseum, but when is someone going to hold Mike Brey accountable for playing 7 players?? When is someone going to ask him what is overall plan is to have scholarships sitting there unused every year?? Game in and game out its the same. Beating Kentucky at half by 24, barely winning today by 1 to a bad team. So frustrating to watch. Unacceptable at any place to have scholarship sitting there not used. Lazy recruiting, lazy effort. Can you imagine if Brian Kelly only used 70 scholarships as opposed to 85?? Its ludicrous and no one seems to hold Brey accountable or even ask why he decides to not get a full team EVER take the floor.

Tommy Rees-Class Act. RIP Zac Plantz

Login to view embedded media Classy move by Tommy Rees. Tyler Plantz coaches Tight Ends. He lost his brother in a car accident on Thanksgiving morning. Zac was a great kid who graduated from ND in ‘15. Tyler was a ‘14 grad who earned a scholarship and has coached ND football since. Younger brother Logan was an o-lineman who graduated ND in ‘18. Zac’s father Ron was an ‘85 grad O-lineman at ND.

Tommy Rees put 4 tight ends in on this play for Tyler to honor Zac. Classy move from a classy guy.

Keep Zac and the entire Plantz family in your prayers. A great Notre Dame family.

******* week 14 gambling thread *******

Another winning week. Could have been even better if I listened to @GroggyGrizzly about the CC ml, but atleast I was on the pts. Dont have much else to say. on to the next one.

Iowa -2.5 . I cant explain how Wisconsin is so down. But going to ride that wave.

Cincy -12.5. Cover machine
Navy vs army under 40.5. I find it to be my patriotic duty to bet the under in this game yearly.

CC -13.5. Cover machine and 4th best team in the country.

Osu -29.5. This game wont happen, and if it does 29.5 is too many pts for a rivalry game. But it's a principle play to bet against Michigan this year.

Iu -10.5. Purdue goes through scoring droughts. Just think IU pulls away at some point.

Arkansas st -21.5. I dont understand this game being played. I feel like the hook is bait. UIW hasnt played a game since nov of 2019 from what I can find.

Colorado ML. Got this at -120 on mgm when they had the line at 1.5 while every other book I saw had the line at 3.5. MGM has adjusted now. But Colorado has been great to me.

I'll play BYU. Waiting to see if line gets to 14.

What do you know? Whay do you say?

Mack Brown continues to say good things about Notre Dame

I am linking a video of Mack Brown's radio show where he discusses the ND vs North Carolina game. I found it interesting that he said he felt ND was good prior to the game but that they after seeing them up close, they are even better than he thought. Coming from a coach like Brown, that is indeed a high compliment.
