Football Odds for Notre Dame, others to make the 2025 College Football Playoff

The inaugural college football 12-Team Playoff had some interesting results with the eighth-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes beating the seventh-seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish to win last season's CFP Championship.

Last season, the oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag opened their playoff odds with 33 teams. This year, they’ve opened them with all 134 FBS teams.

Here are some notes from last year’s opening odds:
  • The teams with the five best odds all made the playoff: Ohio State, Georgia, Oregon, Texas and Clemson.
  • The teams with the sixth to 12th best odds did not make the playoff: FSU, K-State, Michigan, Utah, Miami, Ole Miss and Arizona.
  • Notre Dame was 5/2 (+250) to make the playoff, which equated to 28.57%.
  • These playoff teams did not have opening odds: ASU, Boise State, Indiana and SMU.
There are three columns for the spreadsheet below:
  1. Fractional odds
  2. Moneyline odds
  3. % chance according to the odds to make the playoff

Football Football Never Sleeps: What Notre Dame Football should look when training camp kicks off

🏈 What should Notre Dame Football look like when training camp kicks off if the Irish are serious about a College Football Playoff run in 2025?

@Tyler James is on vacation, so WSBT radio host Darin Pritchett (Weekday SportsBeat) joins me tonight at 7 ET on YouTube for a Football Never Sleeps episode focused on Notre Dame’s summer progress report — and what absolutely must be in place by July 31 when camp begins ahead of the season opener vs. Miami on Aug. 31. Darin and I have been doing radio shows together since 2012, with a break during the COVID-19 pandemic.

🔍 Topics on tap:
• How much growth should CJ Carr and Kenny Minchey show in their command of the offense post-spring?
• What’s the right way to separate QB1 and QB2 — and is there room for a situational role for the backup?
• How deep should Notre Dame go at wide receiver, and when should that rotation be trimmed?
• With Jordan Botelho out early, what’s the ideal plan for the defensive end rotation?
• The latest buzz in recruiting, including targets, trends, and takeaways
• And as always, YOUR questions answered live

Maybe Freeman did but this is what I read where it was brought up

Yeah the reason why the media asked him that specific question is because MF told them the day or two before they were doing away with Vyper and going to Left and Right end. That's how the question came about. He offered that info unprompted when he spoke to the local media

Sports Dissected's Top 20 CFB Facilities

strange how that is the only study or SO CALLED STUDY that says this
listening to interviews with various 5 star recruits not one of them mentioned facilities
To be fair the article I linked is several years old and the survey was taken before the advent of NIL money. Obviously NIL money has changed the way HS athletes are recruited, as will the revenue sharing that will now come about as a result of the House settlement. But the schools handing out the big NIL contracts also have some of the nicest football facilities, so facilities and NIL money are part of the whole package. I also agree with you that athletes are foolish to not look at the educational opportunities that a school provides, but that is simply a secondary factor (if it is a factor at all) with many 5* kids. They are convinced the NFL is their future so who cares about an education? As Cardale Jones of Ohio State famously said, "we ain't come to play school."

It didn't come from Ash. He didn't want it out actually. Came from Freeman unprompted in media.
