I don't because you're forgetting about player___XI think we're gonna see a helluva QB battle this spring:
Carr vs Angeli vs Minchey
All 3 guys can play.
Minchey had a bit better mobility than i expected in his limited purdue reps. Definitely more athletic than Angeli.I agree. Minchey is never talked about, but I think he should be. Frankly, I think it’s unlikely Leonard gets through this season without missing games from injury, and I think we might see this battle this year.

He’s like a pro gopher suddenly losing all confidence in his driver, and opting for irons instead. I keep hoping this is a mental obstacle he needs to overcome, but his stats for his play post ND last season and thus far this season suggest this s simply Senior Leonard as opposed to Sophomore Leonard. The throw Angeli took and made to Harrison is there all game every game, and even more open for Riley with beaux. He will not even attempt the throw, let alone throw it good. That's concerning. Denbrock said as much in his PC yesterday. Not only does he need to scramble less when the pocket is good, when he does roll out he has to keep his eyes downfield. His best runs have been designed runs, not scrambles as much.
I think we're gonna see a helluva QB battle this spring:Nasty, really legitimate concerns. Frankly, I was totally disappointed with the quality of our receiver room last year, but very encouraged by the additions made this year. I’d prefer to get our share of highly rated four star receivers via recruitment each year, but as pointed out, we have to show some enthusiasm and competence in the passing game to be an attractive landing spot. We have been anything but three games into the season. The one caveat for me is the fact there are so many talented receivers coming out of high school, and good evaluation can land some very good talent among three star recruits that lacked a lot of exposure. That and the portal can quickly fix a receiver room.
Right now, Leonard is the primary problem with our passing game. Seeing guys wide open downfield jumping and waving their arms to get his attention as he is rolling out of the pocket is beyond frustrating, and sends a terrible message to our targeted receiver recruits. Whether Leonard regains confidence in his passing or not, the fact is one of Angeli or Carr or Minchey is going to be our starting qb next season, and each of those will be willing downfield passers. So from my perspective, next year will work itself out with another combination of recruits and transfers, but this year is looking more and more like defenses scheming to stop the run and us playing double te sets and big receivers to block for the run, and we all know that the defenses if the better teams usually wins this battle.
Damn. You see any pathway where he becomes an impact DE?Yes. He is just has absolutely no explosiveness with speed, quickness, or power. He's also somewhat shorter and not long for the position.
He was far too slow for LB when he got here, so coaches threw him to DE.
I think he's physically and mentally mature, so assignment correct, it's why the coaches played him early when they got in a pinch.
Yes. He is just has absolutely no explosiveness with speed, quickness, or power. He's also somewhat shorter and not long for the position. Why are you down on Junior? You think he's a total bust at this point?

They are, and why I think they'll try to schedule an easier team vs another power 49 p4 and 3 non conference is a good mix. As long as it's not a fcs team. Also Boise is a good game
And he shouldn't have recruited him. Should have gone all in for Tommy Frazier. I think that was one of the big name alternatives that would have fit the offense better.Even Lou really only recruited what was supposed to be a great passer once in Ron Powlus.
That was one thing Ara was able to do was find good passers. Theisman, Clements and Montana.
It is arguable that as regards pure passing capability Jimmy Clausen might be the best ND has had in perhaps ever
I don't even give a shit about the free market. It's just effin' evil that the schools get to keep all the money and the players get shit, in the most supremely and brazenly plantation-style arrangement. That's just basic wrong and right.Because that is what the market dictates for their services (and they still aren't being fairly compensated -- next will be holdouts and unions and collective bargaining most likely)
btw I like how university athletic departments are releasing leaks to the media that they are raising prices in order to compensate players (as to pit the public & fans vs the players and its apparently effective based on the replies in this topic)
no matter what institution or organization where money is involved -- laborers vs the oligarchy is always an ugly dog fight
But it's a choice. Attend games or watch on television. As I said earlier ND has been gouging season ticket holders for years. I'm as much of an ND fan as anyone. I haven't been to a home for quite some time. I have been to a few away games that fit my schedule better. I pay for Peacock, that's the closest I get to supporting ND monetarily. I'd rather pay a premium for a ticket that goes to the players than not knowing where the increase is going. At least Tennessee is being upfront about it.Tickets are already very expensive for a lot of families. Now they are raising prices. Yes it effects them
Fair enough, I guess we're done here. That's probably the only way a Purdue fan can save face. After a true ass-walloping like Saturday, gloating over ND grudgingly joining the Big Ten at some point against their own better aspirations, crossing their fingers and riding their luck that Purdue gets grandfathered into the big leagues, where they can at least assume their usual position as whipping boy and doormat for the big boy programs to enjoy a break on an otherwise packed schedule. Everyone has their role to play...Thanks for the chuckle and you nailed it: The only way that USC will continue playing ND is for the Irish to join the Big Ten.
Yeah it's a good gameBoise is traditionally better than N. Illinois.
Boise is traditionally better than N. Illinois. For all the logo measurers out there. They will absolutely make the game a 4 qtr game.9 p4 and 3 non conference is a good mix. As long as it's not a fcs team. Also Boise is a good game
